Corporate Controller

Ideal candidate, will be able to perform the following tasks:

  • Plan, direct and evaluate the organization's fiscal responsibilities and performance
  • Participate in the development of the company’s plans and programs as a strategic partner
  • Oversee the activities of accounts payable, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices, purchase orders, petty cash, employee expense reports, cash control, payroll processing and total corporate payroll tax compliance
  • Manage the month end close process and compile and analyze monthly financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Perform proper analytical review of the operations from a balance sheet, income statement and cash flow perspective as well as an overall business perspective
  • Leverage financial analysis and create models to help the company identify areas where profitability can be improved and expenses reduced
  • Provide status of financial condition of all Divisions by collecting, analyzing and consolidating financial data and recommending plans
  • Establish budgets by creating schedules, collecting, analyzing and consolidating financial data
  • Coordinate the annual audit and tax return preparation; function as the primary contact for these projects
  • Supports and works closely with operations personnel and system

Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred
  • Experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller
  • CPA or CMA Certification is preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in full general ledger accounting and financial reporting is preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures including general ledger functions, month/year-end close procedures and GAAP.
  • Previous Leadership experience 

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent computer and data management skills
  • Experience with an ERP system (ideally with Microsoft Great Plains)
  • Able to transmit information in an accurate and understandable manner
  • Not afraid to actively seek feedback
  • Willing to adapt to changes in the work environment while managing competing demands and frequent changes, delays or unexpected events
  • Able to develop realistic action plans with prioritized work activities
