POSITION: Credit Collection Specialist

LOCATION: Burlington, VT

DURATION: 7 months (Contract)

HOURS: 8:00am-5:00pm

PAY RATE: $18/hr.


Summary:  This position is critical to the success of DDC by ensuring timely follow up on collections of delinquent accounts, posting of cash receipts and overall customer satisfaction.  Also within the scope of this position are record and file keeping, posting to customer accounts and distributing customer invoices.



  1. Daily review of assigned Accounts Receivable aging reports, identifying slow paying customers and following up to collect and resolving client issues.  Must make 35+ outbound calls a day
  2. Researches aged receivables for problems, proposes and implements resolutions
  3. Sends Collection Letters to past due clients
  4. Prepares weekly collection status reports
  5. Placement of cancelled clients to Collection Agencies
  6. Adheres to credit and collection policies
  7. Timely respond to both internal and external customer requests
  8. Assist the team in distributing daily and monthly invoices to customers
  9. Process customer payments including processing credit card payments and posting to customer accounts
  10. Follow up on incorrect addresses
  11. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  12. Must be willing and able to multi-task in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  13. Must be dependable, punctual, highly motivated, works independently and persistent
  14. Other duties and projects as assigned by Billing Operations Management


Knowledge, skills, abilities required:

The Credit/Collection Analyst must possess knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field, a proficiency in an office environment including the use of office equipment, the ability to engage in conversation (using English) with clients and co-workers in a friendly and confident manner.  They must be detail oriented and have strong critical thinking skills.    Proficiency in MS Office applications (word and excel) and familiarity with accounting software is needed to succeed in this position.


Education and Work Experience:

This position requires a minimum of the following:

  1. 1-3 years’ experience
  2. High School Diploma or Equivalent GED


Reporting relationships and Contacts:

Credit/Collection Analyst report directly to the Billing Operations Manager and are expected to work both independently and in a team environment.  This position interacts internally with employees in all departments and externally this position interacts with all levels of clients via telephone and email.  This position does not supervise any other positions.
