Credit Clerk


Adecco is assisting a local client in recruiting for a Credit Clerk in Lafayette, In. The pay is $12.00 to $14.00 an hour depending on experience. This is for a temp to hire opportunity that will give you valuable experience to enhance your career. It is Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm. As a Credit Clerk you will respond to customer's requests for information, and address discrepancies, please see below. Responsibilities for this Credit Clerk job include:

* Processes, resolves and distributes check problem paperwork

* Responds to customers and branches requests for information or action via phone & email (Invoice Copies, Lien Waivers and Credit References)

* Processes Internal Account Clearings. (Application of offsetting credits and debits, writing off bad debts, processing customer refunds)

* Reconciles G/L Accounts

* Performs necessary administrative and clerical functions related to the department i.e. filing and general office tasks

* Engages in cross functional department support (backs up receptionist)

* Develops and maintains constructive relationships with other business units and departments

* Demonstrates professionalism when representing the company in all communications with internal and external customers and vendors

* Works within the policies and procedures of the company

* Sustains housekeeping standards in accordance with department appearance guidelines

* Maintains Department to internal safety standards and OSHA compliance


* College level coursework and or 2+ years relevant work experience

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Demonstrates basic accounting skills- Prefer AP

* Strong data entry and 10 key skills

* Effectively sets priorities, maintains organization, and meets deadlines

* Strong interpersonal internal and external customer contact skills

* Demonstrates computer skills and aptitude; Microsoft Office preferred with proficiency in Excel

* Excellent telephone etiquette

* Ability to perform and retain various skill related tasks, training, and operations

* Computer/printer/fax machine/copy machine

* Telephone/cell/10 key calculator
