Credit & Collections Analyst

Adecco is currently assisting a local company in finding a Credit & Collections Analyst. The Collections and Credit Analyst is responsible for contacting customers for payment and resolving issues such as pricing or freight. This individual helps to coordinate between our sales team, our customers, and our internal Finance team. Issues vary from day to day and require the individual to have problem solving and critical thinking skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Along with those identified below, other duties may be assigned. 

Collection

  • Resolve both customer and sales disputes concerning billing and shipping errors by researching accounts, preparing and submitting documentation to initiate account adjustments to correct billing errors or referring proper information on items requiring research to Customer Support
  • Utilize key metrics such as Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and Accounts Receivable (AR) >60 days past due to manage priorities

Other duties

  • Responsible for providing accurate data to the auditors when requested.
  • Responsible for processing W-9 requests along with general information requested by customers.
  • Responsible for developing a strong customer service relationship with customers, buyers and fellow employees. 
  • Provides assistance to Credit Manager on an as needed basis along with other employees within the department.
  • Requests and maintains sales tax certificate files for customers and auditors when requested
  • Provides assistance in the cash application process.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Understanding of basic accounting processes
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, superior telephone etiquette.
  • Ability to compose letters, e-mails and faxes pertaining to issues with customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to handle confidential data.
  • Ability to interpret, comprehend, and independently execute with high levels of accuracy work instructions
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages.
  • Must be flexible to work weekends during month-end closing
  • Must be knowledgeable, persuasive, tactful, and able to properly interpret customer/buyer responses. 
  • Must be able to make decisions and use sound judgment.  Must be able to meet deadlines and prioritize job responsibilities appropriately.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Business/Accounting or equivalent experience preferred
  • One year minimum customer relationship experience preferred
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills required
  • Strong MS Excel skills required with proficiency in all other Microsoft Office applications desire
