Customer Service Representative

Assisting a plastics and life sciences manufacturing company in their search for an experienced Customer Service Represenatative in Colonial Heights/Richmond, VA. This role is responsible for providing customer service and logistics support to existing and potential customers as well as Sales Reps. and interact with all departments within the company and facilities.


Process purchase orders; order entry and review for accurate data,

correct billing, shipping addresses, proper quality documents, pricing, etc.

Process shipments through freight carrier’s website (issue BOL, labels, issue pickup, freight quotations).
Process export documentation (commercial invoice, packing list, shipper’s letter of instruction)
Maintain 12 month rolling forecast for assigned customers.
Maintain OTIF (on-time, in-full) log.
Assist accounts receivable as needed.
Conduct outbound calls to potential and existing customers, soliciting orders.
Return goods authorization / Complaints (assist QA investigate, issue a pick-up, process any returns and credits due).
When required gather information regarding pricing, costs, account status, shipment history, etc.

Serve as liaison between the customer and various departments.
Run end of day invoices and send to customers.
Complete all tasks as assigned by Supervisor.


A High School Diploma or equivalent. Some college classes preferred.
Three plus years’ experience in customer service required.
Minimum 1 years’ logistics experience preferred.

Export shipment knowledge preferred. (incoterms)
Must have strong keyboard and data entry skills.
Strong MS Office skills required, especially excel and outlook.
General office skills required (scan, print, file)
Must have good communication skills – verbal and written.

Systems: Fourth Shift, Salesforce, EDI/ASN experience preferred.

Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
Math skills to include ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
Intermediate computer skills including electronic mail, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
Must be able to manage difficult or emotional customer situations.
Must work with urgency and respond quickly to customer needs.
