Job Title: Customer Service Representative I
Location:– Baltimore, MD - No relocation assistance, travel expenses, or any other expenses can be offered
Estimated Start Date: ASAP
12 month Contract Assignment
Pay Rate: $16.20 per hour

Job Description:












BGE is looking for Customer service representatives who can be trained and take calls in 911/Emergency, Collections, Billing and Start/Stop/Move orders. Calls may also include outbound, dialer calls. Successful candidates will have previous customer service experience, experience with MS Office, comfortable with web applications, financial calculations and are able to work at all Care Center locations (G&E, RBC, Front St. and Spring Gardens).

New CSR Class

New CSRs coming in should not expect to receive any time off for about the first two months due to classroom training. Please make sure this is something they are comfortable with. Once classroom training is complete, CSRs will move to OJT – on the job training.
Candidates should be comfortable working a rotating on call shift, working OT as needed and working storm duty (12 hour shifts, BGE typically puts CSRs in a hotel during inclement weather and provide transportation to/from work). OT hours are usually available on Mondays, Tuesday and the weekends. CSRs are considered “essential” to the day to day operations of BGE.
Overall, candidates should be available to work from 7am-Midnight 7 days/week. There is no set schedule. Schedules are created by the supervisors periodically.
As of right now, the average CSR will work 45 hours/week
BGE is looking for candidates with at least 1 year of professional customer service experience (call center experience is preferred). Candidates with a degree are a plus. New Grads are encouraged to apply. Soft skill wise, BGE is looking for candidates who are highly interested in growing with the company, someone who wants to come to work, can be respectful, have patience and able to work in a collaborative environment.

Frustrated Caller – 67% (Break down score of the Call Center Scenarios Test)
