The Customs Brokerage Manager has responsibility to provide leadership and resource management to the Client Service Team. In this role, the CBM must ensure efficient production and steadiness in changing environments for all client teams to the business unit goals and objectives. This includes day to day administration; managing the overall service delivery to the clients through release and classification; coordinating point-of-contact for the team; and ensuring client relationships are maintained through client contact and outstanding customer service. The CBM will manage team costs within budgeted margins; plan staff scheduling around work volumes; interact with all team members (regardless of their shift) and always be available to the team should an urgent client issue arise.


Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee staff operations to ensure performance within established timeframes, corporate standards, and complies with US Customs/PGA rules & regulations
- Monitor and maintain the team budget and ensure operational success from a revenue and cost perspective
- Guarantee client service meets corporate objectives and is provided on schedule, according to deadline
- Support business development efforts, including client visits as required
- Deliver professional advice to both internal and external customers
- Establish standards and procedures so that Customs entries, client billings, and operations as a whole are consistent, accurate, and timely
- Manage duty and freight liabilities to ensure billed/paid amounts are precise and timely
- Must be aware of changing regulatory requirements to properly inform clients or staff of impactful changes
- Actively develop and implement process improvement opportunities for the program as a whole

Essential qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred; high school diploma (or equivalent) required
- Customs Broker License REQUIRED
- 3 - 5 years management experience REQUIRED
- 6 years US Customs brokerage experience including strong working knowledge of air/sea and northern/southern border brokerage operations
- Must have client relation/client facing experience
- Good interpersonal skills; Must effectively communicate with client and team members
- Strong leadership and development skills
- Ability to reflect a professional company image
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of company policies/procedures, company credit policies, client data, LII systems and solutions.
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, Power Point
- Analytical skills with problem solving ability; Ability to work in fast pace environment with large volumes of work is necessary
