Responsibilities, Qualifications, & Details:
Our client is seeking a high-quality information analyst to produce and distribute curated news digests covering technical subjects of recurring interest to upstream operations.


Job Duties:

Responsible for importing, cleansing, validating and analyzing data with the purpose of understanding or drawing conclusions from the data
May consolidate and/or present data in charts, graphs, or tables
Focused on improving data quality
Works with moderate work direction and is skilled and knowledgeable to the position


Must Have:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Library Science or Journalism
Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills
Report generation and data analysis
Proficient in MS Office
Subject background in Upstream Oil & Gas would be an asset
Experience with databases and Upstream information services including but not limited to Dow Jones Factiva, EBSCOhost, Web of Science, IHS, Wood Mackenzie and DrillingInfo
Experience with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Tableau
Understanding of search techniques and knowledge of database structures
Assess technical and business news to produce targeted information alerts
Familiarity with tools for searching the scientific and technical literature, Internet search engines, and database services such as Web of Science, EBSCO, Questel, and Factiva
Ability to develop current awareness alerting services
Discretion and judgment to evaluate, select, classify, organize, and filter information content
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong commitment to superior customer service
Ability to accomplish project work in a diverse team setting and open floor plan
Willingness to exchange knowledge and learn from team members
Generally has ability to work with other departments and management to determine organizational goals, pinpoint trends, correlations and patterns in complicated data sets
Able to provide supervision, training and mentoring to junior analysts within the department



Preferred Skills:

Familiarity with data analytics and competitive intelligence tools
Subject background in Upstream Oil & Gas would be an asset

Pay Rate: Market Rate
Shift Start/End Time: first shift/general business hours
