POSITION: Dealer Products Accounting Analyst

LOCATION: Plano, TX

PAY: $48.00 /hr

DURATION: 7 months

 

Sr. Financial Analyst

Finance Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Senior Financial Analyst.  Reporting to the FP&A Manager, the primary responsibility of this role is to serve primarily the Accounting function to support the operations and projects for all Information Technology (IT) groups within TFS’s dynamic and complex technology organization.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a financial analyst by developing an understanding of IT business objectives/initiatives and cost structure, providing financial analysis, and building strong business partnership to ensure accuracy of expenses recorded
  • Perform the monthly accounting close for the IT groups (posting journal entries, preparing pre-close variance report and analysis, and coordinating the close with Corporate Accounting, affiliates, and external vendors)
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with TFS capitalization policy
  • Provide guidance to business partners on Hyperion Planning Application usage and issues resolution.  Perform ad hoc analysis (Essbase and Smartview retrievals).
  • Fulfill internal and external audit requests for SOX Compliance and quarterly and annual financial audits

 

REQUIREMENTS:

The analyst will be required to perform the following functions in addition to ad hoc tasks assigned:

  • Prepare and record journal entries monthly
  • Prepare analytic schedules as part of the monthly/quarterly close process
  • Prepare account reconciliations monthly and research any variances
  • Assist with obtaining support for requests made by external auditors
  • Prepare quarterly schedules used in SEC, Japan, and governmental reporting, including analytics and tie out
  • Prepare ad hoc analysis and process improvement
  • Monthly reporting and analysis in addition to the above day-to-day accounting function,
  • Step in and help when needed (covering, special projects, etc.)

Indefinite, based on skill and performance

 

Must Haves:

  • 4-year Degree in Accounting
  • CPA
  • 5+ years (no more than 10-15) of strong GL accounting experience
  • Intermediate to Advanced MS Excel skills – stronger the better (pivot tables, v-lookups, formulas, basic macros)
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Sound understanding of basic accounting concepts
  • Prior experience performing month-end close process
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good interpersonal skills as the analyst will need to interact with various departments

 

Preferred/ Nice-to-haves:

  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft a plus
  • Industry experience in financial services
  • Prior experience working with an ERP such as PeopleSoft or SAP
  • Prior experience performing the functions outlined above
  • Host system experience
