Desktop Support Specialist

Position Overview- Desktop Support Specialist will be responsible for addressing general PC issues with end users in office and manufacturing floor.


Essential Job Functions

  • Receive, prioritize, and resolve issues raised via email, phone, observation, or monitoring alerts.
  • Help users utilize technology and identify the need for new, or better technology.
  • Assist in the management of network, server, email, backup, monitoring, and other systems.
  • Install and configure new computer hardware.
  • Identify where better management systems and automation could improve company workflow.
  • Follow procedures for common tasks and document tasks that lack procedures.
  • Manage and take ownership of desktop patching and update systems.
  • Learn and troubleshoot ERP software for users.
  • Assist in troubleshooting manufacturing machines and systems.
  • Learn proprietary software, help software development team deploy, train, and use the software.
  • Must be interested in learning new technologies and continuous improvement.
  • Flexibility for occasional on-site and off-site work after regular business hours.


Additional Job Functions

  • Able to work directly with employees and communicate technical concepts effectively.
  • At least 2 years of experience troubleshooting Microsoft Windows and computer equipment.
  • Basic computer networking concepts.
  • Most work is in an office environment but should be comfortable in a manufacturing environment.


Essential Skills and Experience

  • Experience with Office 365, ERP software, Windows Server, Active Directory.
  • Lean manufacturing concepts.
  • Programming and database concepts.
  • Follow through with commitments and foster mutual trust with organization leaders.
  • Assume additional responsibility without being asked.
  • This position is Temp-Perm.
