Development Coordinator

Adecco is assisting a local organization in their search for a Part Time Development Coordinator in the Duluth/Twin Ports area. This position is a permanent Direct Hire opportunity. This person will work closely with the City Board in working with asset development and donor services. Responsibilities of a Part Time Development Coordinator include:

  • - Actively seeks to increase the assets of the City and to raise the resources necessary to implement the Fund’s goals. li>

  • - Actively engages Advisory Board members in asset development and donor relations.
  • - Oversees an annual development plan focusing on individuals, corporations, and professional advisors.
  • - Provides donor services and stewardship for the Fund’s contributors and fund holders, including organizational endowments.
  • - Responds to inquiries from prospective donors and professional advisors.
  • - Educates donors and prospective donors about charitable giving
  • - Educates professional advisors, including trust officers, bankers, attorneys, accountants, estate planners and financial advisors about the benefits of giving to the Fund.
  • - Helps develop and implement a communications plan to raise community awareness of the Fund.
  • - Actively seeks opportunities to speak about the Fund before donors and community groups.
  • - Works with staff in preparing news releases and other publications needed to increase public awareness.
  • - Works closely with staff and follows policies and procedures in all areas of work.
  • - Meets regularly with Chief Operating Officer and Development Officer for action plan guidance and support.
  • - Maintains high standards concerning confidentiality of donor information among other items.
  • - Participates in appropriate training provided and other opportunities for training in the field.
  • - Utilizes computer skills for optimal performance through technological advances.
  • - Additional tasks as assigned.

  • Requirements and Desired Qualifications:

  • - Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • - At least three years successful volunteer experience in development or donor services.
  • - Skills in non profit management, board development, fundraising, grant making, public speaking, public relations, and group facilitation are highly desirable.
  • - An understanding and appreciation for charitable giving.
  • - An ability to travel regionally and locally.
  • - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • - Excellent analytical, organizational, creative problem solving and computer skills.

  • This position will be between 10-20 hours per week. Compensation may vary.
