Department Overview • Part of Advanced Diagnostic Imaging R&D department • Group of 10 engineers • Responsible for design and development of software that does image reconstruction and filtering, inter-process communication, data management (e.g. database) , web-based interface and testing, for PET/CT and SPECT nuclear medicine products. Position Responsibilities for an Intern or Co-op • Conduct software development and test efforts in accordance with department Product Development Process (PDP) and satisfy the design controls specified in the FDA Quality System Regulations. Assure that deliverables adequately meet quality, safety, regulatory compliance, maintainability, and reliability standards. • Assist with the development of image reconstruction, data management, data communication, web services, and test software under the guidance of senior developers. This includes supporting all aspects of software development including requirements analysis, specification, design, implementation, source control, unit testing, integration testing, validation, documentation, release, and ongoing support. • Assist senior developers with module testing and defect investigations. What We Are Looking For • Someone with a high level of creativity, an interest in software development, and an excellent academic record. Such a person would likely be a candidate for a BS in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering or a related technical discipline, and would have completed sophomore level computer courses. • Someone with excellent communication, problem solving and leadership skills, and who can work independently with only moderate supervision. • Experience with any of the following are helpful, but not required: o Object Oriented methodologies o Any object oriented programming language (C++, C#, Java, etc.) o Any scripting language (e.g. perl, python) o Any website related development (e.g. html, PHP, JavaScript, etc.)
