Director of Sales

Adecco Direct Placement is currently recruiting candidates for a Direct Hire Director of Sales opportunity for a leading Plastics Manufacturing Company in Madison Heights, MI. The Director of Sales will work as part of the sales team. In this position, the Director of sales Resources will provide direction, recommendations, and suggestions to support to business operations pertaining to sales of the organization. The Director of Sales is responsible for the developing and implementing sales plans to accomplish company goals. The Director of Sales will direct the sales personnel, review market analysis of customer needs, and develop and control the sales programs.


JOB DESCRIPTION:


Correspond with customers as needed
Perform reviews of the company strategic direction and facilitate adherence to this direction
Maintains knowledge of industry trends affecting the company’s sales
Maintains responsibility for organization’s sales personnel
Communicates changes in the organization's direction and ensures that proper compliance is followed.
Assists executive management in the annual review, preparation and administration of the organization's sales forecasts.
Works directly with regional sales managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters.
Recommends, evaluates and participates in sales programs.
Supervises the staff of the sales.
Participates on committees and special projects and seeks additional responsibilities.
Prepares reports as needed

Performs in a manner that will prevent errors and omissions.
Responsible for meeting team targets and key performance indicators
Participate in activities needed to support the management functions of the team.
Develops and implements strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals.
Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules and discount rates.
Directs staffing, training and performance evaluations to develop and control sales program.


Directs channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas and goals.
Advises dealers, distributors and clients concerning sales and advertising techniques.
Assigns sales territory to sales representatives.
Analyzes sales statistics to formulate policy and assist dealers in promoting sales.
Directs product simplification and standardization to eliminate unprofitable items from sales line.
Represents company at trade association meetings to promote product.
Delivers sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives.
Meets with key clients, assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
Coordinates liaison between sales department and other sales related units.
Analyzes and controls expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements.
Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition.
Recommends or approves budget, expenditures, and appropriations for research and development work.
Effectively manages sales budget for the region.


EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Sales is required
Master’s Degree is preferred
