DIRECTOR OF SALES

Adecco’s Executive Recruitment team is assisting a top client in the Logistic industry in the search for a Director of Sales to join their team in Romeoville. This role is a direct hire, permanent placement opportunity with great experience in one of the fastest-growing and well-respected logistics companies in the Chicago Area.

In this role, the ideal candidate will work directly with the President of the company to grow and maintain client relationships by developing effective ways to transport customers’ freight utilizing the company’s exceptional dispatch team. This role serves in a sales capacity and communicates with both customer and carrier contacts. The candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining customer relationships, assessing client specific needs, promoting and selling company’s services and obtaining sales goals and objectives.

RESPONSIBILITES:
The Senior Sales Representative is ultimately responsible for the sales process of selling, negotiating, performing customer service, sustaining account management and delivering exceptional service.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective clients
Cultivate new sales leads from start to finish to establish book of business
Responsible for securing and growing new business
Perform analytical and logistic planning
Work closely and communicate internally with dispatch team, operations team, customer service team and drivers to assure uniform understanding of customer expectations

Extensive understanding of freight brokerage industry
Cross-functional, dynamic leader with strong bias toward delivering results and providing customers with highest level of service
Analytical mindset to be a problem solver while always putting the customer first
Ability to work both independently and within a team
Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to negotiate rates, sell services and build professional relationships via telephone and face-to-face meetings
Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-moving environment

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

7+ years of freight brokerage and logistic industry experience
5+ years of sales experience (preferably in logistics) with proven sales metrics
Established book of business within freight market
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of experience
Strong computer skills in various logistics software
