Director of Wholesale Operations

GENERAL FUNCTION

The North America Director of Wholesale Operations leads a team and owns responsibility for fulfillment of customer orders and domestic distribution center operations and ensures timely and accurate fulfillment and delivery of imported and domestically sourced products to North American manufacturing and distribution facilities and to retail stores, wholesale customers and consumers (e-commerce).

Preferred background in Manufacturing managing group of people of around 500/600 individuals


MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Directs operations including key projects, product allocation and customer compliance.
Liaisons with sales team to achieve superior performance with key accounts and other strategic partners.
Coordinates with sales and brand teams to understand critical customer requirements.
Ensures customers compliance requirements are met and delivered on time.
Aligns processes between operations and other functional departments including sales, finance, supply chain, logistics and customer service.
Drives projects and improvements in the areas of allocation, order processing and work with the distribution managers on successful implementation of key initiatives.
Coordinates with distribution managers on customer value added services (VAS) requirements and setting order priorities at the distribution centers.
Serves as operations representative within the S&OP planning teams.
Maintains accountability for performance to budget along with variance analysis and reporting.
Plans with manufacturing to ensure alignment to sales objectives.
Directs and coordinates with IT on strategic solutions including the prioritization and identification of opportunities in addition to the timely implementation of projects.
Sets and maintains key performance indicators for the operations department supporting company goals and objectives.
Establishes staffing levels and resource plans for the operations department.
Manages operations team.



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:


Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Logistics, supply chain or business administration
10 years experince in logistics, supply chain, distribution center operations
SAP experience
Experienced and advanced abilities with excel
Proven track record for delivering results
Strong communication skills
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with sales, operations, finance and manufacturing departments



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


MBA Preferred in related field
Experience with large retailers in the fashion industry
Supply chain background in apparel industry
Experience in managing high volume small parcel spend
Global logistics knowledge and experience
Self-starter, highly motivated to make things happen and facilitate change
Willingness to take risk and new approaches in solving challenges and creating new opportunities
