Adecco is assisting a local client recruiting for Transport Expeditor/Dispatchers in Gardena, CA. This Transport Expeditor position is a Full-time temp to hire position!


In this Transport Expeditor role, you will be responsible for monitoring the Transport delivery versus plan.  When irregular operations occur, make changes to facilitate achieving the planned schedule.  Adjustments might be needed to flight assignments, vehicles.


Monitors approximately 15 Catering Service Representatives.


Functions and responsibilities:



  1. Monitor operations versus plan
  • Monitor KRT, fleet, flights

o Monitor changes to scheduled flights (aircraft, meal service, gate, arrival, departure (in SSD, Unimatic)

o Monitor projected KRT of flights versus schedule; identify flights running late

o Monitor timely dock unloading of trucks and truck availability; set priorities for un-loading

o Capture internal request for transport

o Fuel level of truck

  • Monitor CSR progress to checkpoints versus schedule
    • Complete vehicle check
    • Check galley assembly; load onto truck
    • KDT (dock departure time)
    • Transport to the airport
    • Go through security
    • De-cater and load aircraft
    • Go to overflow truck, de-cater and load
    • Return dirty galley back
  • Monitor flights at airfield and interact with customer on issues and resolution
    • Monitor transport scheduling software (365 Response) of progress versus plan
    • Monitor Dispatch Sheet
    • Ensure clear access to the galleys (with cameras)
    • Inform the customer of issues impacting adherence to schedule and service
  • Monitor issues from concourse
    • Capture alerts and requests from the airfield: CSR's, Concourse Coord


  1. Take countermeasures for irregular operations
  • Make changes to CSR assignments and trucks
  • For domestic flights top-up shortages/ provide extras
  • Communicate delays and gate changes and traffic
  • Alert customer of possible dis-service issues (late, short, delays, etc.)
  • Address irregular transport requirements
  • If changes require 'out of spec' scheduling, escalate/alert to Transport Sup. and Mgr.


Candidates must meet the following requirements to be considered for the Transport Expeditor position:


  • Willing to adapt to flexible shifts and working hours; may work some weekends and nights
  • In-flight catering experience as a CSR is crucial
  • Experience and/or ability to use computerized transport scheduling and monitoring system
  • Must have effective leadership skills to successfully manage and direct ~20 CSR’s



  • +3 years of supervisory experience in a related industry
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent. College degree preferable
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
  • Proficient at using Excel
  • Good computer skills to use the Transport scheduling software
  • Microsoft Excel literate
