The Document Controller is responsible for ensuring that the Quality Assurance Document Control functions are systematically managed and aligned with corporate Quality Assurance Document Control procedures, policies, and processes, and ensure compliance with the company’s SOPs, policies and regulatory agencies



  • Adhere to all GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices), such as good hand washing practices and adhering to the employee hygiene plan
  • Follow all FDA guidelines
  • Fill out electronic and paper logs, filing and maintaining records
  • Work in conjunction with the SQF Practitioner to comply and adhere to all company policies and procedures

o Establishes a procedural framework for identifying, collecting, distributing and filing the controlled documents. Maintains document control procedures and coordinates development and roll-out of document control tools.

o Maintains a display system with “We are producing now…”, lot number, product description, processing recipe, specification, labeling requirements, packaging specifications and pallet configuration for each line in the production floors.

    • Uploads and modify Food Safety System changes to common drive and effectively communicates through the management of change procedure all changes across the organization.

o Maintains documentation as required by customers (in Web portals, Databases, etc.). This would include GDSN Compliance, 1WorldSync and other customer-specific access points required for label private label development or supplier approval.

    • Maintains updated documents for RSPO, Organic, Kosher, Non-GMO and all other certifications.

o Maintains and updates all documentation related to Food safety and Quality required for supplier approval

    • Maintains a score card to evaluate supplier performance.

*FSQA Manager assumes this role in the absence of the Quality Assurance Document Controller.

  • Strong Detail Oriented Bilingual ability (Spanish) is a plus
  • Advanced skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Preferred Education and Experience

  • B.S. in Food Science or related discipline
  • + 3 experience in a similar position.
  •  Excellent computer skills are required.

Physical Demands

  • Occasionally, required to be in cold weather environment.
  • Required to reach with hands and arms.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


Minimum travel is expected for this position.
