EHS Specialist

Adecco is assisting a local safety company recruiting for a EHS Specialist position in Cranberry Twp . We’re looking for an EHS Specialist to join the amazing team at our client site.

Here’s a little of what you’ll be working on:

The Environmental Health & Safety Specialist is responsible for the day to day support as well as the continuous improvement and maintenance of a comprehensive EHS Management System in the departments with an emphasis on product testing safety and processes.  This is a hands-on position as the incumbent will assist in leading the safety champion team, completing risk assessments and preventative actions, update EHS programs, complete associate EHS training, manage waste processes, and drive all EHS initiatives for all associates that reside in the building locations.  The focus of this position is to promote associate engagement, behavior-based safety mindset and compliance to regulatory requirements to prevent illness and injury, enhance protection from work related and environmental hazards and lead EHS and Sustainability efforts. This position will collaborate and coordinate with the other design center associates and EHS professionals to assess, identify and implement the best practices for EHS activities.

  • Complete all reporting requirements to Global EHS monthly.
  • Update current EHS Programs and Processes in LOTO, Risk Assessments, Job Safety Analysis, Work Inspections, Ergonomic applications.
  • Train associates from several functions.
  • Manage by investigating and driving corrective measures for Near Hits, First Aids, Property Damage, Environmental issues and Injuries.
  • Coordinate with the team and execute any requirements for Emergency Response practice.
  • Facilitate aligning EHS requirements and best practices across all global design centers.
  • Make weekly safety walk-through (Safety Gembas) involving associates in the work areas. 
  • Update documentation and training documents as a continuous improvement effort and to meeting Global EHS requirements.
  • Provide training to new associates and interns. 
  • Monitor the workplace to ensure COVID-19 Protocols are being managed.
  • Schedule regular working sessions with associates and EHS professional from other design centers.
  • Valued Qualities

  • General project management experience
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent written, verbal, leadership and presentation skills.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office suites
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • B.S. Safety or Environmental related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an occupational safety and health or environmental function for a manufacturing company or technical services company.  
  • Exceptionally strong new graduates will be considered.
