POSITION: eLearning Graphic Designer

LOCATION: Whippany, NJ (Zip 07981)

DURATION: 12+ Months

PAY RATE: Up to $50/hr depending on experience

HOURS: 40 hrs per week

US Pharmaceutical Sales Training Department 

This role sits within the Technology Group within the US Pharmaceutical Sales Training Department. We support training, specifically by creating eLearning and administering training via the Learning Management System. We are training the US Pharmaceutical Sales Forces. 

The eLearning Graphic Designer using adult learning theories and sound instructional design methods will design and develop Learning content supporting all of the assigned Business Units. This individual will create eLearnings using Adobe Creative Cloud. This individual will be proficient in InDesign and will also have illustrative talent. 

• Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and materials. 
• Plans concept by studying information and materials. 
• Illustrates concept by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts. 
• Obtains approval of concept by submitting rough layout for approval. 
• Completes projects by coordinating with outside agencies, printers, etc. 
• Maintains technical knowledge by attending design workshops; reviewing professional publications; participating in professional societies. 
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. 
• Advise clients on strategies to reach a particular audience 
• Develop graphics for product illustrations, logos, and other items 
• Incorporate changes recommended by the clients into the final design 
• Review designs for errors before printing or publishing them 
• Combine art and technology to communicate ideas through and layouts 
• Is or understand the role of an instructional designer and how it impacts design 
• Be able to create designs that are artistically interesting and appealing 
• Communicate with clients, customers, and other designers to ensure that designs accurately reflect the project objectives 
• Ability to think of new approaches developing unique designs that convey a recognizable meaning on behalf of their clients. 
• Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time, each with a different deadline. 
• Employ various techniques and principles to make eLearning more effective. 
• Ability to create eBooks using an array of functionality 
• Familiar with publishing using the InDesign HTML5 Export Plugin/Extension 
• Have some familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and SCORM/AICC compliancy 
• Creates well designed focal points that guides learners as they study, draws attention to the most important parts of a course and highlights important items to remember. 
• Create designs (specifically eBooks) that help to improve readability for highly technical topics with the use graphic design elements like font, layout, and white space. 
• Ensure that every design component aligns with brand image and suits the subject matter by turning complex ideas into easily digestible graphs, charts, and tables. 
• Get firm understanding product and organization brand identities and style guides in order to remain complaint in design choices for eLearning or collateral materials 
• Serve As The Voice Of Graphic Reason. Have the ability to strike a balance with client expectations and budget/timeline/functionality realities 
• Being resourceful and always ready to provide solutions to clients to help meet client needs 
• Comfortable meeting with clients and stakeholders to discuss project expectations, scope, and desired outcomes. 
• Help to visualize and communicate the overall eLearning design. Combine the two essential traits of creativity and having an eye for detail, to visualize the outcome of an eLearning course design. 
• Ability to create rough sketches and storyboards to help the client visualize the overall eLearning course design. 
• Develop eBooks with the use of InDesign 
• Ability to produce graphics, charts, infographics, and illustrations for eLearning courses. 
• Ability to image search using royalty free images if there isn't room in the eLearning budget for custom photo shoots. 
• Ability to revise design based on the overall feedback. 
• Must demonstrate staying on The cutting edge of graphic design technology 

• HS Diploma or Equivalent 
• Proficient in graphic design software to prepare designs, including: 
o InDesign (MANDARORY) 
o InDesign HTML5 Export Plugin/Extension 
o Captivate 
o Spark 
o Illustrator 
o Photoshop 
o After Effects 
o Premiere Pro 
o Character Animator 
• Graphic Design Experience 

• Flexible writing style that can be adapted to different mediums and reach a variety of audiences 
• Knowledge and use of standard English, correct grammar and ability to edit complex, detailed documents 
• Solid interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. 
• Skill in using project management tools and processes to achieve deadlines and desired results 
• Strong organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects at a time 
• PC skills including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and graphic design software - ability to use videos, photos, sound, and interactive elements as needed 
• Travel Requirements: Occasional Convention Attendance - Not mandatory
