Duration: 12 month contract
Pay Rate: $46.00 hour / Adecco W2

SUMMARY OF DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:



This Electrical Controls Hardware & Mechatronics Engineer position will develop and maintain electrical modules and components for Thermo King NA/EMEA. This role will ensure components, materials, and processes for use in Thermo King NA/EMEA product lines are efficiently sourced by utilizing market trends, meeting Thermo King NA/EMEAs requirements and are documented in the change request system. Additional responsibilities include maintaining printed circuit board (PCB) AVL for both Thermo King proprietary designs and supplier designs. Overall, this role will provide electrical component engineering support for Thermo King engineering platform teams and will also offer the right candidate the opportunity to utilize their current skills and develop new ones by working on a diverse set of technologies including analog & digital electronic devices, controllers, sensors, motors, starters, alternators, generators connection systems, wiring harnesses, and power conversion products.


CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work closely with Product Management, Supplier Engineering, Document Control, Hardware Development, Global Supply Chain Management and Quality Assurance departments to verify specifications and part requirements for electrical components meet our design requirements.
Benchmark the industry to know component availability in each size and new products on supplier’s roadmaps. Keep informed and up to date on component market trends.
Support Internal/External Design Reviews and Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA) to evaluate, improve, and select a proposed supplier solution for a new or upgraded component.
Ensure the DFMEA drives all proposed DVP tests to include reliability, durability (environmental), performance, system integration, safety, and cost.
Review component inventories, recommend common parts, disposition of excess inventory and other activities related to component analysis.
Assist with the development and/or generation of component specifications (including drawings and written specifications) with Design Engineering when required. Develop electrical components, sub-systems and systems for reliability, durability, performance, safety and cost.
Apply systematic problem solving skills to define issues, identify root causes, develop, qualify, and implement corrective actions in a timely manner.
Analyze, condense and present test data/results.
Maintain orderly project records. Know, document and communicate project status as required both verbally and in written form.

Release engineering component prints in product life cycle management system.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 5 years of systems and/or product design work experience required.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS or KNOWLEDGE:
- Hardware design and/or integration experience with controllers, sensors, power electronics, motors, alternators, starters and generators.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and circuit diagrams.
- Proficient with Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer, Multi-meter, PC based diagnostic and simulation tools.
- Proven problem-solving ability, experience with standard analysis and reporting tools (DFMEA, A3, FEA, 8D, Fishbone/5-whys etc.) preferred.
- Great verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to develop strong working relationships with cross-functional teams
- Proficient with MS Office applications (Excel, Project).
