Electrical Assembly Tech II

Assembly Tech II, 1st Shift, $18/hr

Long-term temporary Assembly Technician II. This position will be a long-term temporary assignment of approximately 1-2 years with the possibility of longer, based upon business needs and if performance and other factors of the temporary employee are satisfactory.

Compensation is $18/hour.

Summary: Perform electro-mechanical assembly of Transportation Systems Division products.

Outline of Responsibilities: (Include but are not limited to the following)

  • Complete electro-mechanical assembly of Transportation products according to drawings, bills of materials, procedures, check sheets, and other work instructions.
  • Perform complex wiring, routing and connections on Transportation products according to drawings and Company specifications.
  • Use various hand and power tools correctly and safely to assemble sub-assemblies and products.
  • Conduct rework / repair of non-conforming product as instructed.
  • Read and understand technical drawings, mechanical blueprints, electrical schematics, and bills of materials.
  • Perform verification of subassemblies and/or assemblies for defects by operating measurement devices and visual checking. Identify and correct defects appropriately.
  • Complete assembly record documentation in accordance with company and divisional policies and procedures such as check sheets, production sheets and other paperwork.
  • Provide input and/or assistance to others developing processes, procedures and instructions as necessary.
  • Safely and correctly operate all equipment, including the following: powered industrial truck, pallet jack, and overhead crane.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Associates degree in electronics or related technical field with a minimum of 2 years of experience in assembly/manufacturing of electrical or durable goods products or equivalent education and experience.
  • Developed mechanical skills as demonstrated by the proper use of hand and power tools.
  • Developed electrical skills as demonstrated by proper wiring and assembly techniques.
  • Applicable safety/operations training required to operate certain machinery and equipment (e.g., powered industrial truck, crane).
  • General computer skills with emphasis on MS Office and ERP systems.
