Position requires a self-starter who can take a list of problems in the shop and work through the repairs. Ability to take priorities set by immediate supervisor and then finds the needed books, OEM help, or information to make repairs on equipment. Works with maintenance and production employees to affect the quickest and most long-lasting repairs possible. Makes notes on all repairs to be logged for future repair needs such as voltage, output, input, sketches, gap, travel, pressure, etc.

Can load and trouble shoot programs for proper operation of equipment;
Can hookup and use equipment related to the trouble shooting of PLC’s and ladder logic;
Analyzes various types of circuits, wiring diagrams, and drawings as required, to install, repair, adjust, calibrate, modify, and/or service various types of electrical equipment;
Assists in the design and engineering of electrical power systems;
Plans and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical principles, wiring specification codes, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of equipment;
Maintains the performance and maintenance records on electrical equipment assemblies, adjusts, inspects, repairs, or replaces faulty parts and wiring on various types of electrical and electronic devices;
Can read an electrical schematic and uses it for trouble shooting purposes;
Inspects equipment for defects like worn parts, misalignment, and inadequate lubrication;
Determines the best way to make repairs to minimize time on the job and the interruption of production;
Lays out work, measures and fits, etc. parts for repair incidental to performing work;
Dismantles, cleans, repairs, replaces, installs, maintains, assembles, and lubricates mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic machinery and equipment as assigned;
Alignment of motor couplings;
Installs new equipment rigging, water, air, electrical leveling, etc. as needed;
Performs all aspects of the skills for a millwright;
Will work to improve skills in all aspects of the competency checklist;
Will help with production and any area needed as assigned by supervisor;
Other duties as assigned.

High school graduate, or a G.E.D. required, college degree preferred;
Written & documented formal training;
Minimum 24 months on the job experience in the maintenance field, preferably in manufacturing environment;
Minimum 24 months experience in electrical field in similar industry. Forging industry preferred;
Holds a valid Journeyman/Master Electrician Certification.
Ability to communicate ideas in a manner to be understood by others;
Ability to self-manage and set priorities based on maintenance requests/needs;
Ability to stretch, climb, bend, reach, and grasp in order to handle and make repairs;
Ability to understand, translate, and electrical issues with machinery and other equipment throughout the facilities;
Ability to work in a dirty, non-climate controlled atmosphere (not afraid to get your hands dirty);
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Journeyman Electrician

Primary Responsibilities: Responsibilities include safely performing installation, maintenance, testing, and repairs on equipment; maintaining all plant electrical, electronic, and PLC equipment; and performing problem-solving and preventive maintenance.
Job Qualifications: The ideal candidate should have a high-school diploma or equivalent, plus 5 years of experience working in an industrial environment. He/she must have knowledge of AC and DC power and control circuits, three-phase power circuits, PLCs, VFDs, and standard lockout procedures. Additionally, the candidate must also demonstrate mechanical aptitude and computer proficiency.
