Location: Princeton, New Jersey

Duration: 6 months + contract – very likely extensions

The Email Marketing Specialist is responsible for the development, set-up, deployment & post-launch analysis of outbound email marketing campaigns using an email service provider and/or marketing automation system. The incumbent demonstrates subject matter experience with CAN-Spam, understands “opt-in and opt-out” requirements, and understands email preference centers. This position requires advising the Creative team on latest email requirements and keeping procedures and job aids current.

Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Process mass emails, ensuring accurate communication and compliance with anti-SPAM regulations
  • Ensure all email messages are compliant with email content policies and adhere to anti-SPAM regulations
  • Tweak HTML and text content based on client direction.
  • Coordinate, manage and create distribution lists based on demographics and purchase history for outgoing campaigns using information from internal and external resources.
  • Execute testing scenarios using A/B splits and control groups, analyze results and optimize campaigns accordingly.
  • Enforce and enhance marketing processes to help ensure quality and effectiveness of processing mailings
  • Manage and track key marketing metrics to analyze email marketing effectiveness
  • Provide analytical support of campaign results including open and click rates, lead generation, sales results and promo code results.
  • Educate SBU on SPAM compliance and capabilities of email service provider (Silverpop) and marketing automation systems (Marketo)
  • Support increase in productivity and effectiveness by educating Marketing on capabilities of, email communication tool, and marketing automation system and recommend best practices for tracking campaign responses
  • Analyze competitive marketplace, and develop a thorough knowledge of the email and mobile marketing industry
  • Follow email/mobile trends and become an expert on email/mobile marketing best practices

Candidates must meet the following requirements for consideration:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Information Technology or relevant experience is necessary.
  • 2 -5 years of experience in email marketing campaign coordination/deployment is required.
  • Experience with email communication and marketing automations tools. Silverpop and Marketo experience is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of HTML
  • Skilled with Excel and database management. Familiar with FTP tools.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.
  • Knowledge of e-commerce, email marketing, best practices and CAN-SPAM compliance.
  • Proven organizational and project coordination skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
  • Well-organized, high attention to detail, deadline-oriented and a strong sense of quality control
