Employee Relations Analyst – Pittsburgh, PA
12 months (contract)
Monday – Friday
$22.00 / hr.

Assists the implementation of employee relations programs, policies and procedures, keeping them in line with organizational policy and labor law legislation; helps develop positive management-labor relations to improve employee relations.

Specific Duties


Providing support to employees and managers in dealing with general employee issues.


Developing, implementing and administering the management-labor relations area of HR in an effort to improve employee relations.


Formulating and recommending program goals in all areas of employee relations.


Maintaining open communication between management and employees and serving as a labor dispute mediator for problem resolution.


Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.


Researches and verifies customer needs and expectations.


Helps link organizational objectives to customer needs and expectations.


Communicates the importance of customer needs/expectations and commits to resolving them.


Meets regularly with customers to understand their wants, needs and expectations.


Solicits customer satisfaction feedback and acts on improvement opportunities.


Knowledge of and ability to utilize data analysis tools to sort through and analyze enterprise data in order to identify factors influencing business performance and to gain greater insight into trends within a business, industry and customer base.


Conducts a variety of data analysis projects, e.g. data mining and categorization.


Compares the uses and benefits of diverse data analysis tools.


Selects a data analysis tool for a specific case while minimizing risk (e.g. data loss).


Explains data analysis results from a business development perspective.


Monitors data processing procedures and adjusts data analysis tools accordingly.


Knowledge of and ability to uphold the organization's and industry's standards, procedures and policies regarding human resources management.


Maintains a specific set of standards and associated HR procedures.


Analyzes policy and standards documentation and ensures organizational compliance.


Provides feedback for the improvement of HR procedures.


Assists in the development and implementation of specific procedures.


Communicates and refers potential exceptions upward for review and approval.


Assesses and effectively manages all of the risks associated with their business objectives and activities to ensure activities are in alignment with the bank’s and unit’s risk appetite and risk management framework.


Identifies major categories of risks.


Describes potential consequences associated with specific examples of risks.


Describes key issues and benefits of risk management practices.


Makes use of organizational resources for risk avoidance and management.


Utilizes all recommended support tools as needed (e.g., backup.)


Demonstrates proficiency with advanced features, facilities, and functions of available tools.


Identifies and resolves common software and usage problems.


Determines which office products can interact and how to share data.


Participates in evaluation of new office support tools.


Shares ideas for document and data conversion when upgrading to new releases.


Ability to apply organization's performance management system, practices, and tools to developing and improving individual, team, and organizational performance.


Ensures performance goals, checkpoints, and feedback focus on behaviors.


Uses formal and informal rewards and recognition programs for employees.


Identifies opportunities to enhance performance, e.g., practice assignments, training, shadowing.


Provides documented input to formal performance review conducted by manager.


Observes individual performance and provides fair and objective feedback.


Advises others on how to select appropriate HR systems for different HR projects or tasks.


Directs the application of payroll, recruiting, and benefits administration systems.


Evaluates the benefits of applying a training management system in the organization.


Controls yearly budgets related to the operation of specific HR systems.


Recommends improvements to existing performance records systems for improving the accuracy of performance data.


Supervises the management of the organization's employee self-service system.


Gathers data and conducts research to monitor workforce trends.


Implements appropriate analytical tools and applications in workforce project operations.


Follows policies and standards to measure workforce performance.


Generates reports to senior colleagues to support ad hoc projects and dashboards.


Reports problems that arise in the data collection process.



Must Have:


Bachelor in Business Administration or Human Resources


Knowledge of and ability to use office support tools available at the desktop (for example: word processing, e-mail, presentation software, and spreadsheets.)


Knowledge of and ability to design, implement, and operate specific HR systems in the organization.


Knowledge of Human Resource and workforce issues and trends; ability to analyze workforce data, information and metrics and apply the results to support business decisions
