Engineering Manager


We're currently recruiting on behalf of our client in Middletown, NY for the job of Engineering Manager. You will be instrumental in creating and maintaining the facility’s core electrical, process control infrastructure and supporting SCADA functions such as real-time data acquisition, supervisory controls, load control and special protection schemes and alarms. This position will be responsible for coordinating strategic direction for the facility in the area of plant automation, ARC Flash Safety, and electrical installations and will be the primary person responsible for specifying, training and execution of related under the direction of the employee’s manager(s).

You will:

Develop SCADA and HMI software applications, consisting of graphical screens for real-time data, historical trend screens, alarm banners and alarm summary windows, pop-up windows for set point entry and manual control of equipment, data collection/logging, automatic report generation using latest concepts in software system.
Provide technical leadership in investigating, analyzing and proposing solutions to complex technical problems and new concepts requiring advanced engineering expertise in SCADA systems.
Provide troubleshooting expertise and recommend solutions to improve performance, simplify installation, reduce costs, correct design or material flaws, or comply with changes in system operation requirements.
Develop and review plans and schedules of activities required to insure the timely implementation of electrical and integrated SCADA projects.
Train engineers
Train electrical staff on all aspects of safety environment and operation.
Provide technical expertise in implementing and maintaining plant Arc Flash Standards to current NFPA 70E and OSHA guidelines.
Provide plant electrical engineering, costs estimates, and scheduling for capital improvements and maintenance.
Manage capital improvement and maintenance projects for completion on schedule and budget.
Create, update, or maintain plant electrical coordination studies.
Manage electrical IBEW staff, Electrical Controls Engineer, contracted electricians and mentor plant union workforce.
Create and maintain electrical and automation specifications and standards
Partner with operations to improve production output and machinery reliability.

You have:

BS in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline professional registration preferred.
5+ years applicable experience in heavy industrial facility.
Experience managing a team of engineers
