Engineering Supervisor

Position Title: Engineering Supervisor
Department: Engineering
Reports to: Chief Engineer or VP of Engineering/Director of Engineering

Job Summary:

Plans, assigns, supervises and directs activities of the Maintenance Mechanics.

Primary Job Duties:


Assists Chief Engineer/Assistant Chief Engineer in the performance of assigned duties
Review P.M. sheets completed on your shift.
Review Work Requests completed on your shift.
Monitor Downtime on your shift.
E-mail a daily Shift Report of Maintenance issues and Downtime to the D.O.E.
Plan, supply, and execute equipment modifications approved by D.O.E.
Initiate Work Requests.
Verify your shifts timecards are accurate.
Seek out ways to improve Process and Equipment.
Monitor waste generated on your shift.
Perform a daily Security Check walkthrough inspection of Plant and grounds.
Assign work as required to Mechanics.
Assist with trouble-shooting trouble calls when needed.
Compile Mechanics Daily Work Log sheets for Somax operator.
Maintains good employee relations
Safety:

1). Monitor Mechanics during repairs and P.M’s to ensure safe work habits.
2). Perform a daily walk through inspection of the plant for safety issues.
3). Monitor all employees for Work Rules Violations.
4). Perform periodic Lockout / Tag-out verification tests.

Sanitation:

1). Ensure proper G.M.P.’s are followed at all times by all employees.
2). Responsible for enforcing Sanitation rules to all employees.
3). Enforce Department cleaning schedule for shop and parts areas.

Other related duties as assigned by the Chief Engineer or Director of Engineering.




Essential Job Functions/Requirements:
Experience: Prior experience in plant maintenance and engineering in a supervisory role.

Education: Degree in Engineering or related field. Licenses as required by state, industry, city, county, etc.


Must possess/maintain a valid license to operate applicable equipment.
Must be physically capable of moving to all areas of the plant. Must be capable of reaching, bending, stooping, climbing, pushing and pulling as required in a production operation.
Must be able to climb ladders, crawl under equipment and work in tight spaces.
Must be able to view product and determine adherence to quality control standards including size, shape, color, cut, etc.
Must be able to visibly distinguish operating lights and panels on machinery and equipment.
Must be able to hear and identify audible alarm systems as well as normal and abnormal equipment operating sounds.
Must be able to generate written and verbal communications clearly and distinctly.
Ability to read and review written communication, blue prints, wiring diagrams schematics etc.
Must be able to wear/use approved applicable safety equipment, as needed.
Must be able to operate required office equipment.


Must be able to research, develop, implement and monitor required policies and procedures.
