Assistant Project Manager / Estimator
Location - Vienna VA

$65,000 - $75,000

Seeking 3-5 years of experience.

My client is a full-service, industry-leading interior renovation DESIGN BUILD firm, serving hospitality clients nationwide primarily in interiors for over 30 years with an excellent record of delivering quality work on time and at great value. Not only do they work with domestic vendors, they partner with international ones as well.


This position consists of both office and field based work with some take off/ estimating experience.


RESPONSIBILITIES:-


Reporting to the Project Manager;


Assist PM with Scope initiation/interpretation and apply to in house bid sheets.
Set up digital job folders.
Takeoffs for finishes Division.
Initiate scope of work to sub contractors for pricing.
Initiate scope of work for vendors pricing (for now hand off to purchasing). Create materials log which can be handed off to purchasing.
Distribute bid documents to subs and vendors.
Bid leveling for all subs and materials prices received.
Assist project manager with performing quantity take-offs from Divisions.
Prepare RFI's listing any clarifications/qualifications related to the scope and or materials.
Assist in creating value engineering ideas proposals/materials/subs etc.
Assist project manager in developing the estimate form and entering pricing information to match owners bid form.
Assist PM with follow up change order pricing.
Assist project manager with other aspects of bid preparation as needed, including attending pre-bid meetings, preparing and submitting proposals.
Assist project manager with preparing a project schedule for submission with the bid, as necessary on MS Projects software.
Assist with schedule revisions.
Determine Cost Codes for material purchases.
Tracking of materials for timely delivery to jobsite.
Assist in overall project set up and Logistics.
Assist in developing subcontractor scopes for going to contract Prepare/track submittals for approval.
Review and approve shop drawings for accuracy with "field conditions".
Assist in logs submitting/tracking to owners.
Attend weekly conference calls in PM's absence.
Issue closeout manual to owner.


QUALIFICATIONS:

-3-5 years of estimating and construction project management experience in commercial interiors preferred.
- Deep level of attention to details. This is a design build firm that operates a little differently from a regular G/C.
- 4 year Bachelors Degree preferred.
- Experience managing multiple vendors, RFP's, bid work, change orders, RFI's in a fast paced environment.
- Commercial construction knowledge preferred.
