OVERVIEW:
The Estimator is responsible for the preparation and implementation of all competitive tender and design-build projects. The Estimator has direct accountability for the quality, on-time execution, proposal writing, competitive and complete pricing for bids.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Participates in every aspect of the bidding process on construction projects by developing responses to client received RFP’s to a design-build solution in the best interest of the client.
Creates and presents detailed cost estimates and final detailed summary, scope of work and support detail for executive review.
Conducts a complete analysis of the bid request packages and prepares & coordinates bid documents for issue to vendors and subcontractors for pricing requests.
Ensures day-to-day communication between all departments; ensuring a clear understanding of joint responsibilities and commitments.
Prepare resource allocation (financial planning) within each major bid and sees it through to completion.
Develop and maintain a centralized database for vendors, cost data, equipment and productivity factors.


REQUIREMENTS:
- 3-5+ years of commercial, industrial, and/or institutional estimating experience
- Experience with SAGE and/or Cost-OS estimating software
- Familiarity with Lump Sum tendering along with construction management and design-build required
- Post-secondary education in engineering architecture or related field required. (A combination of education and experience may be considered)
- Direct experience working as a team lead or supervisory role
- Must possess problem solving and analysis skills
- Excellent with oral communication, writing, and editing
