Adecco is currently assisting a local client in their search to fill an Expediter opening in Charlotte, NC!

POSITION: Expediter
LOCATION: Charlotte, NC
DURATION: 7 Months
Pay: $18+ /hr based on experience

Responsibilities
Responsible for ensuring the timely receipt of materials, goods and services, so that production schedules and deadlines can be met. Extensive vendor interface required. Expediter works in the purchasing department and may handle other purchasing related tasks as required.


Establish a consistent and on-time shipping schedule through communication with suppliers
Contact suppliers/vendors/shippers for updates on delivery schedules and/or improvement of the schedules
Develop formal relationships with the suppliers to minimize the points of contact
Performing clerical and data entry duties to support the purchasing and sales team
Involving management when continuous problems occur and poor supplier performance becomes an issue
Confer with company personnel and vendors to coordinate shipping activities and to resolve complaints or eliminate delays
Communicate with transportation companies to prevent delays in transit, puts tracers on shipment in cases of en route delays and may arrange for distribution of materials upon arrival
Files, obtains and organizes documents, purchase orders, quotes, etc.
Support Buyers ad Sr Buyers in their daily activities with inventory management
Run reports as needed by MMP staff
Works under immediate supervision
Performs other duties as requested



Qualifications/Requirements


Associate degree with Bachelor’s degree preferred
Knowledge of the air, expedited, LTL and cartage area




Strong written and verbal communication skills
Able to multi-task, follow direction and work in a team
Strong computer and attention to detail skills
Ability to effectively communication both verbally and in written form with suppliers, branch management and co-workers
Ability to prepare and prioritize emerging needs
