Shift: Monday-Friday 7:00am-4:00pm
Location: Plano, TX
Pay Rate: $26.00-$28.00

Position reports to: Facility Manager, PepsiCo Parkwood Facility

Education required: Minimum 4 year degree in Interior design, Architecture, Engineering or Facilities Management

Experience required:
* 1-4 years dealing with a corporate environment, space planning, design and construction activities.
* Full proficiency in AutoCad drafting and design with experience in office layouts required

Primary Responsibilities:

Office reconfigurations and construction – This position is the Facilities Department coordinator for implementation of office changes, moves, adds, etc., managing the activities of contract and in house labor to perform the required work. This includes project development and execution; interfacing with all levels of Frito-Lay management to develop appropriate solutions to office needs. Implementation includes the preparation of contract documents for city and state permits, solicitation of bids, and supervision of the work to assure timely completion and quality.

Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) file maintenance and standards - The primary duties involve development of layouts and construction documents for the implementation of office changes, moves, adds, etc. and will also support related work with other teams, i.e. Security and Building Management. This position works as an integral part of the overall Facilities and Corporate Service department in providing computer drafted solutions to various building issues by preparing alternative layouts, presentation drawings and implementation plans, including construction documents. This position will interact with many levels of the company on a daily basis. This position is also responsible for maintaining all CAD standards and files for all buildings and projects.

Office layouts - This position prepares office layouts as directed by the Corporate Space planners for office modifications, moves and changes. Typical changes require multiple alternative solutions and presentations to gain approval to proceed. This position develops plans for modifications, moves and new installations of furniture systems and moveable partition walls. In addition to layouts, some office changes require interior construction, electrical, mechanical and tele/data system changes.

Office design and planning – This position is responsible for the planning and development of offices for senior executives including furniture selections and procurement. Experience in and a working knowledge of interior design, furniture and furniture systems, construction, construction documents, finishes and materials is needed.

Design supervision – Most facilities projects require the use of outsourced design activities. This position is an interface between the PepsiCo client and the design firm and is responsible for the supervision of the outside designers. These design activities include office design, space planning, ADA and Texas Accessibility Standards (TAS), construction, permit and bid documents.

Construction management – Supervise small construction projects (typically ? $100M)

Ergonomics – Educated in and able to train PepsiCo Associates in the proper ergonomic use of furnishings and equipment. i.e. selection and proper use of chairs, keyboards and accessories.

Furniture management – Full responsibility for $6MM inventory of office furniture and furnishings. maintenance, repairs, refinishing, warehousing, inventory, requirement forecasting and procurement.

Other Responsibilities

Sustainability Programs – In support of PepsiCo’s commitment to sustainability, this position will prepare and execute programs that further the company’s desire to increase our environmental stewardship. This effort could include facilities programs that achieve desired LEED certification points or involve employee programs to drive individual responsibility.

PepsiCo Employee Programs – This position will interface with, guide, and support employee programs. Support may range from coordinating group objectives with the internal communications team for internal publicity to providing drawings and coordination for group events

Miscellaneous CAD Support - As the sole CAD drafter for the Facilities department, this position is frequently called on to prepare a variety of building related and non building related drawings. This position will also be involved in the building signage program and other special design projects.

General Capabilities:

Capable of analyzing the functional, physical and environmental needs of a department, group or individual; supervising and planning solutions to meet those needs, within corporate standards and budgets; and supervision the implementation of the approved plans. These activities require detailed knowledge of building design, interior construction techniques and furniture systems.

This position requires project management skills, the ability to manage many activities and projects simultaneously and to deal effectively with all levels of management.

Complete understanding and proficiency in AutoCad drafting and design. Working knowledge of office furniture systems, interior construction materials and related technologies. Working knowledge of applicable building codes, ADA and Texas Accessibility Standards. (TAS) Ability to maintain all drawing files, drafting structures and standards. Work independently with little direct supervision or oversight.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and computer skills are required. Must be capable in all office PC applications, i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint

Supervisory Responsibilities
No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. Provides informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers and contractors. Coordinates and assigns tasks to co-workers and contractors within a work unit and/or project.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and eight or more years’ experience in electrical systems, refrigeration and/or HVAC. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Universal CFC certification required. Additional certification in one or more of the following: electrical, mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry. Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions.
