Adecco is currently assisting our client Cirque du Soleil - Volta in their search to kitchen jobs in Tampa. This is a temporary 2 month project opportunity working 35-45 hrs per week. Opportunities available include Prep Cooks, Line Cooks, Dishwashers and Dining Room Attendants.

Prep/Line Cook $14
Duties:
• Prepare cold and hot sections of the kitchen service line;
• Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes, using various kitchen utensils and equipment;
• Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, using methods smelling, or piercing them with utensils;
• Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food-handling practices;
• Carve and trim meats such as beef, veal, ham, pork, and lamb for hot or cold service, or for sandwiches;
• Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and a variety of other kitchen equipment;
• Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period;
• Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes;
• Assists others in closing the kitchen;
• Assist in other areas as needed and assigned by the Kitchen Manager and Head-Chef.
• Receive and put away food deliveries, clean and organize prep-area, and mop back of Kitchen floors
• Throw out garbage, compost, and recycling.
Requirements:
• 2 years hands on kitchen experience or effective combination of education and experience;
• Experience working the hot line / grill section
• Experience working in the cold larder / salad bar section in professional catering or a busy restaurant environment is essential.
• Culinary skills and techniques for preparing small and large quantities of food;
• Strong knife skills are essential; depending on the tour selected candidate may be required to bring his/her own knife set, non-slip shoes, chef's coats and pants
• Ability to handle and prepare a variety of raw and cooked foods;
• Strong understanding and compliance with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures;
• Maintains a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, sauté burners, convection oven, flat top range and refrigeration equipment;
• Ability to work well under pressure and take direction;
• Must be able to work flexible hours, days, evenings and weekends

Dining room Attendant $12

Duties:
• Assist with Dining room supplies inventory control (includes making orders in advance and communicating delivery delays to the Chefs or Kitchen Manager);
• Assist with cleaning kitchen, dining room, and stores;
• Participate in the tear down and set up of the kitchen;
• Receive and put away food deliveries
• Clean and organize prep-area, mop dining room floor and throw out garbage, compost, and recycling in their designated bins.
• Assist the Dishwasher when needed
• Responsible for care of the dining room:
• Clean up coffee area, service line and dining room area;
• Clean up tables, chairs and floor in dining room and terrace;
• Fill up soft drink, juices, and yogurt in pastry refrigerator;
• Clean and fill condiments, i.e. salt, pepper and sugar shakers;
• Handle dining room inventory control;
• Change garbage, compost and recycling bags;
• Must be willing to assist with customer service (no specific experience required)
• Assist in other areas as needed and assigned by other Cirque Kitchen Manager and Head-Chef staff.

Requirements:
• 2 years hands on kitchen experience;
• Depending on the tour, experience working in a prep-kitchen with good knife skills may be required; if prep skills required candidate may need to bring his/her own knife set, non-slip shoes, chef's coats and pants
• Good manners, professional demeanor and customer service skills;
• Must be honest, punctual, and reliable;
• Maintain a clean appearance and proper hygiene





Dishwasher $12

Duties:
• Washing crockery, glasses, utensils, pots, pans, etc;
• Responsible for the cleanliness of the kitchen and individual work area;
• Assist with food prep task, i.e. peeling potatoes, carrots, etc;
• Assist with the reception of supplies, stocking shelves, general cleaning;
• Assist with set-up and/or tear down if asked;
• Wash, dry and fold laundry in the morning, mop back of Kitchen floors and ensure proper sorting and disposal of garbage, compost, and recycling.
• Assist in other areas as needed and assigned by other Cirque Kitchen Manager and Head-Chef.
• Ability to move quickly with good attention to detail, organized and neat appearance a must.
• Experience in using dishwasher machines in a busy environment

Requirements:
• Experience with washing dishes in a community kitchen environment;
• Have experience using an industrial dish washing machine
• Must be able to work in a physically challenging environment including extreme weather conditions and heavy lifting (up to 25lbs).
• Ability to work quickly with attention to detail
• Must be honest, punctual, reliable and organized
• Must maintain appropriate personal hygiene; have a clean and neat appearance
