Adecco is currently assisting a client in their search to fill an Fellow, Strength and Conditioning Coach in Lake Placid, NY.  This is a yearlong temporary opportunity. As a Fellow, Strength and Conditioning Coach you will work as part of the sport performance team at the Lake Placid Olympic Training Center, under the direction of the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach, by assisting in the everyday operations of the sport performance training facilities.

 

Pay/Compensation is $17.50/hour

 

Anticipated start date is mid-late June 2018

 

Duties & Responsibilities of a Fellow, Strength and Conditioning Coach:

  1. Provide top-level performance services to assist in the preparation for the upcoming World Cup season to athletes training at the Lake Placid Olympic Training Center (LPOTC).

2.  Assist in the implementation of strength, speed, and conditioning programs of National team athletes training at the LPOTC.

 

3.  Aid in conducting performance testing and monitoring of National Team and other select athletes that train at the LPOTC. May include collection, analysis and interpretation of results.

 

4.  Develop and implement strength, speed, and conditioning programs for select Developmental athletes that train at the LPOTC, under the guidance of the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach

 

5.  Maintain a professional and positive relationship with all staff at the LPOTC.

 

6.  Ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of the training areas and equipment of the strength and conditioning facilities at the LPOTC.

 

7.  Aid in maintaining a safe training environment for all athletes and staff.

 

Minimum Qualifications of a Fellow, Strength and Conditioning Coach:

           

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in exercise or sport science and pursuing/finishing Master’s in sport science (preferred completed Master’s degree)

Licensure & Certification:

  • Nationally recognized certification in strength and conditioning (i.e. CSCS; CSCCa)
  • Preferred specialized certification in coaching exercise technique (i.e. USAW; USATF)
  • Current certification in CPR and First Aid

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in coaching or assisting in the implementation of training programs for athletes at the collegiate level or higher
  • Experience in periodized programming and implementation for sport performance
  • Experience in conducting and analyzing sport performance testing

Skills:

  • An ability to effectively teach and demonstrate proper exercise technique in the area of weight training and speed development.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work well in team environments with representatives from a wide range of disciplinary backgrounds
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to effectively present to groups of varying sizes

This position is a yearlong assignment and will be based out of the Lake Placid Olympic Training Center in NY.  In this role you will be expected to work 40 hours a week.
