Summary: The Field Service Technician Apprentice is responsible for assisting the Field Service personnel by providing logistical support and assisting Field Service Technicians onsite as needed. Duties include maintaining parts, tools, equipment inventories, maintaining databases, data entry, and report preparation. As well as assisting customers via email, telephone contact or on site, developing knowledge of KACO's products, and assisting Field Service Technicians in the field as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
1. Maintain service parts, tools and equipment inventories, including reordering items as needed
2. Assist in managing spare inverter and parts inventories.
3. Perform cycle counts, and physical inventory reconciliation.
4. Coordinates use and maintenance of service vehicle.
5. Maintains library of procedures, manuals, documentation, and trainings.
6. Tracks the warranty status of customer products and provides notification of end of warranty status.
7. Assists with troubleshooting and analysis of central inverters, via email and telephone contact with customers, and site visits with Field Service Technicians as necessary.
8. Develops a working knowledge of the National Electric Code and its applications to photovoltaic systems.
9. As needed, assist field service personnel to perform commissioning and start-up as well as field service (on site trouble shooting and repairs) for central inverters and assist technician perform preventative maintenance for equipment when and where applicable.
10. Assists Service Department in maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
11. Other duties as may be required or assigned.

Qualifications:
? Knowledge of tool and parts inventory maintenance is helpful.
? Must possess excellent teamwork skills
? Must be customer satisfaction oriented with a professional demeanor
? Knowledge of electronic technology troubleshooting is helpful
? Ability to work in extreme environments, e.g. hot sun, below freezing, crawl spaces, etc.
? Ability to analyze and solve problems effectively.

Skills:

? Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities

Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal, is required. German and/or Spanish language skills are a plus.
? Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) is required.
? Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy are required.

Education/Experience:
? High School diploma or equivalent required
? Bachelor�s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred
? At least 1 year of experience in an administrative or support role are required
? Experience and / or hands-on knowledge in the solar PV inverter arena preferred
? Prior experience in electrical/mechanical engineering, and/or solar power industry is helpful.

Certifications/licenses:
? Valid US driver�s license
? This position may require travel.

• Schedule: 1st day will complete training in the office (8am to 5pm)
• Schedule after Training: Will travel to field with a KACO Technician – Schedule will be 10+ hour days as needed (typically 6 days per week)
• Work Location: Temp employees will work at various sites in Texas (not just the Fort Stockton location)
• KACO will provide travel, lodging, meal expenses while out of town
o Ability to work in the field for 1 or more weeks at a time a must
