Financial Analyst

Shift/Hours:    8A – 5P

Responsibilities for this Financial Analyst job include, but are not limited to: 
•    Assists with the monthly close process to ensure all reporting has been received and accurately booked
•    Provides actuaries with the reports needed to calculate reserves
•    Calculates profit commission accruals, deferred acquisition costs, premium tax accruals, and other non-system underwriting/admin business activity
•    Prepares analysis and support for auditors including answering any follow-up questions
•    Analyzes the financial results for accuracy and resolves identified issues in a timely manner
•    Researches P&L variances to plan and prior year. This includes working with marketing and other departments to gather business reasons for significant variances or changes in the financial statements and preparing variance write-ups for management and auditors
•    Provides input on extended warranty plan and projections as required including profit commission calculations and estimates for change in DAC
•    Assists with on-boarding of new clients on various systems (AS400, WLS, Universal Data Base, AIM, etc.) This includes advising on completion of system implementation set-up and reviewing reports to ensure the business is properly mapped/interfaced to the PeopleSoft general ledger system
•    Prepares profit commission statements for distribution to clients
•    Expedites completion of assigned special projects, provides supplemental reporting, and miscellaneous ad hoc requests as required

Qualifications for this Financial Analyst role:
•    Bachelor Degree in Accounting
•    Three (3) to five (5) years of accounting
•    Proficient with Microsoft Office tools including Excel and Word
•    PeopleSoft experience preferred
•    Strong financial analysis experience
•    Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, detailed oriented
•    Strong technical accounting/problem solving skills and attention to accuracy
•    Strong ability to be well organized while managing multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities  
•    Good work ethics
