Job Description:

Overview of business area or project: This requisition is for a COO-type role within the Group Operations Team, specifically supporting the Data Services Production teams.

Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Reporting
• Participate in monthly financial reporting and reconciliation activities 
• Monitor cost center activity against budget & forecast (accruals, expenses, etc) 
• Determine position of budget to actual expenses 
• Determine position of budget to FY forecast 
• Participate in annual planning process and work with Finance Team, Program leadership, PMO, Business staff, and IT staff
• Provide ad-hoc research and support on items regarding expense and budget 
Resource & Invoice Management
• Perform set up of new resources, resource modifications, terminations 
• Maintain repository of consulting and contractor SOWs 
• Point of contact for vendor invoice processing 
• Reconcile invoices against project budgets
Candidate will report to the head of the Data Services Finance team and will be responsible for providing centralized support to the Data Services Production and Change unit and his/her direct reports, as well as aspects of the planning, management and monitoring of the of various RDS production and program deliverables. The core program leads are mainly based in New York and London, however Global support for other locations such as Singapore, Raleigh and Pune are required. Consequently the role requires a strong and experienced individual who can work independently.

Overview of department/team:
The mission of Production Data Services is to provide efficient, timely, and cost-effective services to create, amend, close, cleanse and otherwise maintain Account data in various Operational Processing Platforms (OPPs), Standard Settlement Instructions in trade processing systems (SSIs), and Book data in the Global Book Manager (GBM). The global teams ensure that new business requests are ‘Ready to Trade’ and ‘Ready to Settle’ as per firm-wide requirements. The Functional Risk Control and MI team ensures that a robust control framework is in place to mitigate risk and remediate control gaps, while accurately measuring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) for the production processes.

Key Controls
• Responsible for efficient, timely, and cost-effective data management services across account, book, and standard settlement instructions (SSI) domain data.
• Responsible for the acquisition, maintenance and distribution of financial instrument reference data and pricing data.

Qualifications:
Excellent relationship and interpersonal skills

• Experience acting as intermediary between production and program, stakeholders, IT and strategic teams. 
• Successful track record of taking ownership and resolution of tasks and issues 
• Extremely strong organizational skills 
• Excellent quantitative, analytical and problem solving skills 
• Timely escalation of project issues and risks
• Project management experience 
• Good knowledge in accounting and/or finance
• Very good understanding of project management methods and approaches 
• Ability to convey and report clearly, accurately and concisely through written and verbal communication 
• Good knowledge of investment banking business processes – front to back 
• Solid knowledge of IT, including experience of IT-oriented projects, user requirements development, and testing
• Hyperion Essbase working knowledge 
• BS in Finance or Accounting or equivalent industry experience
• Experience working with financial and operational data
• Must have experience with general ledger activities
• Must understand accounting topics related to Capex, Opex, depreciation and be able to distinguish between cash budgets vs. P&L budgets
• Strong desktop tools knowledge, including MS Office, advanced Excel skills
