Financial Analyst - Grants

Adecco is seeking a Financial Analyst with grants experience for a higher education institution in New Brunswick, NJ. This is a contract opportunity.  If you meet the requirements below, Apply with Adecco.

The Financial Analyst prepares and/or assists in the development, preparation, execution, monitoring, and oversight of budgets as part of an administrative team.

  • Prepares or assists in preparing working budgets.
  • Reviews expenses to ensure consistency with the department's working budget.
  • Approves and monitors expenditures in line with available funds.
  • Analyzes fiscal data and prepares relevant reports.
  • Prepares or assists in preparing monthly analysis of expenditures.
  • Coordinates budgetary functions with Purchasing, Grants, Legal Management, Accounting, Human Resources, and other departments as required.
  • Assists with and monitors monthly account reconciliations with the unit’s budgeting office.
  • Coordinates and resolves account discrepancies, including but not limited to, purchase requisitions, purchase orders, updates and monitors expenditures.
  • Works with Management to develop contracts, subcontracts and budgets for external collaborators, government agencies, and other research investigators, etc.
  • Represents the department at interdepartmental and institutional meetings involving financial matters, as assigned.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field plus a minimum of three (3) years of experience in the maintenance and review of budgetary and fiscal records including experience with computer based accounting systems. 
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. 
  • Prior experience in academic settings and federal grants and contracts (pre- and post-award) preferred.
