POSITION: Financial Analyst

LOCATION:  Concord, NC

HOURS: Full-time, M-F, 830AM-500PM
DURATION: 3-12 - months, with potential to extend or go permanent
PAY: DOE

 

Job Summary

Top 3-5 Technical Skills Needed GAAP for capital accounting; compliance reporting; internal controls; forecasting

 

Job Description:

• Support capital project accounting in Concord, with primary focus on expansion projects

• Ensures compliance with local regulations, GAAP accounting principles, and Client policies and procedures

• Plan and conduct project audits to insure proper capital and expense categorization

• Review that child-parent asset relationships are appropriately linked

• Ensure appropriate documentation is in place for capitalizations, spend items, spend re-allocations, etc.

• Serve as Finance team member on the expansion project teams, offering guidance, support, and facilitation for capital and spend, project capitalizations, spend forecasts

• Ensure a strong internal control environment. Comply with GAAP and Client accounting policies. Maintain documentation in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404.

• Manage capital spending reporting to ensure timely and accurate completion of accounting activities, including fixed asset management, period closing & reporting, budgeting/forecasting

 

Education & Experience Required:

• Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance

• 5+ years of relevant experience

• Experience with Sarbanes Oxley

 

Desired:

• CPA/MBA

• Plant Controller experience

• Experience in Capital and Fixed Asset Accounting

 

Other Skills:

• Knowledge of financial and management accounting, including systems, compliance and reporting requirements

• Ability to display adequate communication and presentation skills

• Adept at interacting and communicating with all aspects of the business, including plant staff and senior managers

• Strong computer skills (Excel, SAP, PeopleSoft, Khalix)

• Team player & Customer focused

• Self-motivated; ability to act on initiative

• Business partner
