Overview Summary:
 
An outstanding  opportunity for the successful candidate with a finance or investment background to join the growing  our financial services client. This position will be part of a Reporting and Metrics team tasked providing investments reporting as well as data quality and data metrics for the Operations department. 

The position will be involved in a variety of reporting, technology and data quality functions within Operations. 
Type of technology: Primarily Microsoft Excel and related tools (PowerPivot, Power BI, Word, PowerPoint). Some in house and third party systems as well (BI Cubes (pivot tables), IDEAS, BlackRock).


Type of data: Investments and finance data.
Work can be both recurring as well as project based, often with tight deadlines. This role has a need for an inquisitive nature, with the associate keeping a constant eye out for ways to improve existing processes and implement new solutions. Individual as well as team-based work is constant.



 
Responsibilities
 

  • Produce recurring and ad hoc reports for a variety of audiences throughout Investments, managing occasional high volumes through careful time management to ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Provide complex data analysis and trending as well as observations and recommendations for review by management.
  • Respond to and fulfill queries from Executive Operations, Front Office, Client Services, Finance, etc in an efficient, thorough, effective and timely manner.
  • Build strong working relationships with the rest of Investment Operations, as well as IT and other front office groups.
  • Remain at the forefront of applicable business intelligence technologies, discovering and implementing solutions to the needs of the Front Office and Executive Operations for reporting, data access, and data quality.

Required qualifications:
  •  Firm experience in investment operations, trade support, bank loan closings, private placements support, and/or settlements and/or investment and finance concepts
  • Business Intelligence tool comfort or experience is also good.
  • Functional experience with BlackRock’s Aladdin, MarkIt/ClearPar, and Bloomberg’s platforms a plus!
  • Strong communication skills and problem solving skills are required
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office (Excel + Word)
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Team player mentality
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in accounting, finance or related field
