Job Title: Financial Analyst – Junior
Location: Madison, WI, 53717
Start Date: 10/1/2018
Duration: 3 month contract assignment
Shift: Mon – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Pay Rate: $24.00 per hour / Adecco W2

JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the fiscal analysis within Spectrum Reach and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and Sarbanes–Oxley Act of 2002. Must be comfortable in a cross-functional environment, be able to problem solve and work independently in a multi-tasked environment, and able to communicate to all levels.


MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience
Assist in the fiscal processes within Spectrum Reach to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and Sarbanes–Oxley Act of 2002.
Partner with key leaders to set financial and strategic direction for the assigned business function/unit.
Actively participate in the annual budget and quarterly forecast process for the assigned business function/unit.
Work closely with key leaders to populate, analyze, justify and publish the budget and forecast.
Partner with Corporate Accounting in the monthly accounting close including preparing any needed account analysis, journal entries, and accounting treatment such as accruals, pre-paid, amortizations, coding of expense vs capital, etc. for the assigned business function/unit.
Instigate analysis of spends, returns of investments, trends, and metrics for the assigned business function/unit.
Provide both written and verbal financial variance explanations during the close, post close, and as periodically requested.
Publish monthly financials, variance explanations, and other needed performance reports and participate in the recurring calls to review/discuss.
Assist in the disbursements originating from the assigned business function/unit.
Identify and participate in the development of any needed accounting procedures, workflows, models, and/or systems to improve the financial process.
Participate in special projects, ad hoc information gathering, and/or reporting requests from leadership.
Establish and maintain an effective system for maintaining accounting files and records.

Assist in any internal or external audits.
Analyze, educate, and recommend changes to accounting operations policies and procedures.
Performing various other duties as assigned by a manager

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills / Abilities and Knowledge
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
Ability to analyze and interpret information
Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner
Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure
Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
Ability to problem solve and model/forecast operation activity
Knowedge of MicroSoft Office with strong Excel skills
Knowledge of Advanced Accounting theory and procedures
Knowledge of Operating and Capital Financial Statements

Education
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, mathematics or statistics, or equivalent experience

Related Work Experience Number of Years
