GENERAL PURPOSE:

This position is responsible for developing and supporting all aspects of Fixture Design from an engineering perspective, including all initiatives related to fixtures and material projects. The responsibilities also encompasses qualifying new vendors to broaden the company�s vendor portfolio to create fixture cost savings This role also supports Strategic Sourcing, Merchandising and other business partner operations when necessary. A key component of this role is having an understanding of the brands and their current fixture programs, brand rules & fixture standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
� Exercises a high degree of engineering expertise to drive development and support of all aspects in Fixture Design.
� Drives for results by associating closely with fixture vendors to understand general manufacturing methods such as differentiating material requirements and various welds as well as provide technical know-how on new designs and in-depth knowledge of CAD/Solid Works and proficient at using engineering instruments to sustain quality control over the vendor�s fixture manufacturing processes.
� Accountable for comparing a substantial quantity of manufacturing drawings and prototypes to preserve a high level of fixture quality utilizing an iPad Pro.
� Responsible for holding vendors accountable through written and verbal communication by scheduling and participating in weekly vendor conference calls, vendor Web-X drawing reviews, prototype set-up & reviews, providing direction & feedback through recaps to ensure deliverables and timelines are met.
� Applies rigorous problem solving and critical thinking to understand root cause of failed/issue with prototype and provides solutions.
� Manages and measures workload for the Direct Import and company initiative timeline calendars through collaborating with internal business partners on all design initiatives to keep projects on-track.
� Manages Fixture Design�s portion of a fixture catalog system uploading fixture photos and drawings to maintain an up to date and accurate fixture data base for internal business partners to use for planning purposes.
� Leads Direct Import fixture reviews with business partners and Executives.
� Manage the samples and first articles of production in the test lab. This includes, but is not limited to; inventory of all Direct Import fixtures, prototype/sample review & set-up, reorganization, purging fixtures, maintaining the standards to keep the lab neat, clean and organized as well as following up with business partners when standards are not maintained.
� Leads vendor/manufacturer facility visits to review and compare prototype fixtures as well as understand manufacturing capabilities.
� Partners with Store Project Planning & Execution in POC store visits/lab reviews to evaluate first articles of production and confirms fixture qualities of fit, function, and finish from prototype to production remain.
� Expectancy of continual development in fixture design functions, this includes, but is not limited to; utilizing People Soft and other various software platforms, participate in competitive shopping visits, designing fixtures, leading a fixture project from concept to approval, and presenting at a prototype review to develop self and continually improve to drive for results

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
� Four year university degree required in industrial engineering.
� Ability to read, understand and design fixtures utilizing AutoCAD and Solid Works.
� Ability to use calipers, protractor, radius tool and other necessary engineering instruments required.
� 1-3 or more years� experience in fixture and/or furniture design and testing.
� Proficient in MS Outlook, MS Project, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, Adobe Acrobat Pro and Photoshop.
� 2 years of project management experience in a retail environment required.
� Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills (written and verbal).
� Analytical and engineering skills in math, reviewing renderings, manufacturer drawings/details.
� Proficiency to work autonomously and deliver accurate data on-time.
� High degree of reliability, including accountability for daily, weekly, and long-term projects.
� Knowledge of ADA code is a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:

No unusual physical requirements. Requires an ability to lift 35 lbs., move store fixtures, able to assemble & disassemble store fixtures, aptitude to operate both manual and powered tools such as a crowbar, hammer, screw drivers, power drill, calipers, protractor, radius tool and other necessary tools and engineering instruments.
85% of work is performed in a comfortable indoor facility; however the 15% is performed in an unfinished floor with minimum temperature control.
Routine deadlines; usually sufficient lead time; variance in work volume seasonal and predictable; priorities can be anticipated; some interruptions are present.
Travel or other inconveniences have advance notice; involves occasional exposure to demands and pressures from persons other than immediate supervisor.
Job frequently requires sitting, hearing, talking, and handling objects with hands.
Job occasionally requires standing, walking, reaching, assembling, and setting up and lifting up to 35 pounds as well as driving/air travel.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically and capable of distinguishing hues of color (e.g., varying shades of white)
