Freelance Copywriter / Content Marketing Specialist

Adecco Creative is assisting our client, a national distributor of safety products and services, in their search for a prolific and talented content creator to write copy for various uses including product descriptions, social media posts, product/service sell sheets, and other marketing materials. All copy for all platforms/media will need to be crafted with best SEO practices in mind. This person will also be responsible for managing SEO at the product and product category level. Additionally, this person will serve as a web content administrator, assisting with product attributing and product uploads to the web as needed. This role requires a high level of creativity, attention to detail, and project management skills.

This is a full-time freelance role, working 40 hours per week onsite in the company’s Madison, WI offices, and expected to last for approximately 6 months with the possibility of becoming temp to perm. The role is paying $25 – 27 per hour depending on experience and full medical benefits (health, dental and vision) are available via Adecco Creative.

Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Functions as exemplary writer, consistent with company’s tone and mission.
  • Works with senior marketing programs coordinator to build out editorial calendar and content.
  • Works with suppliers to acquire and leverage their content, where possible.
  • Writes clean, concise, well-polished copy that effectively tells the story of how the company serves its customer base through its product and service offering.
  • Creates and posts compelling, engaging written content for social and email platforms on an ongoing basis, to provide value to and grow our subscriber/follower base.
  • Analyzes, manages and optimizes product and product category content and search terms to enhance searchability and improve overall customer experience.
  • Works with Product Managers to ensure that products are attributed accurately and that new product uploads to the web are prepared and executed accurately and within established timeframes/deadlines.
  • Collaborates with designers, fellow Marketing and eCommerce team members, and other internal and external influencers and industry experts to produce relevant, precise, and accurate content and tell compelling stories that meet the needs of key stakeholders and audience.
  • Stays up-to-date with latest industry trends and customer challenges, as well as latest trends and changes with SEO and major search engines.


  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing/Communications/English or other major.
  • 2-5 years of copywriting experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience with blogging and B2B Marketing
  • The ability to write clean, concise, well-polished copy. Portfolio samples are a must.
  • Experience with HubSpot a plus.
