The Development Director is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all the Bert Nash Center's fundraising. The Development Director works closely with the Chief Executive Officer, the Governing Board of Directors, the Endowment Board of Trustees and the Center Executive Team in all development and fundraising.

Some responsibilities include
Developing and implementing a major gifts program utilizing the Benevon Sustainable Funding Program including identification, cultivation and solicitation of major donors

Developing and implementing a planned giving program with a focus on deferred gifts such as bequest expectancy
Directing capital campaigns and other major fundraising drives
Meeting with current and prospective donors and supporters on a continual basis to establish effective communication with them
Overseeing management of gift processing and donor acknowledgement, the donor database, financial reporting, and accompanying information systems
Providing leadership in designing and implementing meaningful recognition events and communications for and with donors, volunteers, and friends of the Bert Nash Center
Providing oversight, direction and supervision of the Development Manager's activities related to pipeline development
Making public appearances/accepting or overseeing coordination of speaking engagements to share information about the Bert Nash Center with the community
Attending meetings of the Endowment Board
Working closely with Chief Executive Officer, Endowment Board of Trustees and Governing Board of Directors in all development and fundraising

Ideal candidate qualifications include
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration or other health or public healthcare field from an accredited institution of higher education
Use of the Benevon Fundraising program and/or experience with major asks
Minimum of 7 to 10 years of increasing responsibility in nonprofit fundraising
Proven track record of fundraising success, particularly in securing major gifts, successfully managing campaigns, and engaging a community of motivated supporters
At least 5 years previous experience successfully managing a development staff.

This is an Exempt position and offers a highly competitive salary DOE and great benefits including Health, Dental, Vision and Prescription coverage. Bert Nash is a participant in KPERS and provides a generous 401K.
