Job Purpose 
The Sr. Procurement analyst will report to the Director, Spend Analytics and Reporting. In this role, they will be responsible for providing senior level analytics pulling multiple sources of data related to spend, contracts and governance for Sourcing & Procurement. In addition, they will be responsible to be the administrator of any tools critical to the function. 

Primary Job Accountabilities/Responsibilities 
Spend Analytics (40%) 
• Utilizing a high level of understanding around spend, categories and supplier information to design and implement ongoing supplier spend reports 
• Ensure all sources of data and data flow is defined and documented to clearly capture supplier spend at relevant levels such as category, cost center, item, internal compliance, etc. 
• Support ad-hoc supplier spend analytic requests 

Management Reporting (25%) 
• In consultation with S & P leadership, design formatting, data and process flow to provide ongoing management reporting and dashboards. 
• As defined, ensure reporting and dashboards are produced with a high level of quality and on-time. 
• Utilizing knowledge of the data, tools and reporting standards, support ad-hoc requests as they arise 
• Monitor reporting and analytics best processes in operational areas such as procurement to identify and implement applicable process improvements to the reporting and analytics 
• Design reporting dashboards for Administrative Services groups 

Program Savings Methodology and Validation (20%) 
• Support Director of Spend Analytics & Reporting and procurement provider with determining appropriate savings methodology for all types of procurement projects 
• Support process to build the structure that will validate all savings from the provider 
• Design reporting process with the provider to ensure Assurant and provider have one version of savings reporting 
• Provide savings reporting to Vendor Management team to ensure contractual obligations are met 

Tool Administration and other as assigned (15%) 
• Hold the administrator role for any tools and/or data sources critical to producing accurate and on time reporting 
• Responsible to develop and own complex programs and databases such as SQL, MS Access, Tableau, etc. 
• Other reporting, analytics or system support as identified by leadership 


Basic Qualifications Required - Experience, Skills, and Knowledge 
Education 
• High school diploma or GED equivalent 

Professional Experience: 
• Five years of progressive financial analysis, reconciliation and research experience required 
• Five years of experience in data mining, database management and reporting. 
• At least two years of experience with complex programs and databases such as SQL, MS Access, Tableau, etc. 

Knowledge and Skills 
• Problem solving and critical thinking skills in a team environment 
• Strong analytical and organizational skills 
• Detailed oriented with the ability to track multiple action items, resources and deliverables 
• Demonstrated ability to function in a team environment and highly matrixed environment 
• Expert level experience in usage of various reporting tools, Microsoft Excel, and databases 
• Proficient in Internet Explorer Microsoft Outlook; Microsoft PowerPoint; Microsoft Visio; and Microsoft Word. 


Preferred Experience, Skills, and Knowledge 
Education 
Bachelor or master degree in Finance or Accounting 

Prior Experience 
• Strong knowledge of procurement principles, theories and processes. 
• Procurement experience in a large Fortune 500 company 

Knowledge and Skills 
• Ability to multi-task

• Strong oral, written, and organizational skills 
• Independent thinking, good judgment and creative problem solving skills

• Ability to understand and document business processes 

Industry Experience: Insurance, mortgage servicing and/or banking industry processes and overall value-chain, specifically in back-office functions.
