Job Summary: Performs various manufacturing, assembly, and maintenance duties in support of beverage packaging operations including automatic, semi-automatic, and manual processes. Essential Functions:

  • Operate beverage bottling line equipment and packaging assembly line activities
  • Assist with mechanical machine change-overs for different bottle and package types as required
  • Make minor adjustments to bottling line equipment to ensure Safety, Quality, Efficiency, and Cost standards are met within company guidelines
  • Monitor quality of finished goods ensuring all quality standards are met
  • Load/feed/insert packaging supplies to various packaging equipment as required
  • Monitor quality of packaging supplies being used; document material usage as appropriate 
  • Openly communicate with Line Captain, Rover and fellow packaging line employees to effectively operate the assigned bottling line or packaging assembly line
  • Maintain neat and orderly work areas
  • Provide quality inspection on bottling lines as necessary
  • Work on semiautomatic and manual packaging and assembly lines
  • Perform reconditioning activities such as inspecting, washing, cleaning, and hand applying labels and other packaging.
  • Perform manual assembly duties such as de-stacking cases, uncasing bottles and product, packaging assembly, case packing, carton labeling, stacking cases onto pallets, etc.)
  • Handle, feed or de-pack case goods as required
  • Perform plant sanitation tasks as directed (such as pick up, sweep, mop, wipe, and shine)
  • Observe all safety rules and identify all "E" (Emergency) stops in assigned work area
  • Responsible for learning, comprehending and abiding by the Quality Management System, Food Safety


Regulations and Good Manufacturing Practice requirements Qualifications:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred

Experience: 2 + years' experience with bottling or packaging lines preferred

English skills required: reading, writing, etc. Bilingual skills a plus.  Good verbal communication skills Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) to calculate inventory counts of materials and finished product in either loose or unitized configurations. Good mechanical aptitude a plus. Good observation and analytical skills a plus . Ability to accurately follow instructions, take direction and ability to give feedback as needed. Ability to respond to frequently changing production pressures (changing schedules and products). Ability to work effectively and cohesively as part of a team within a production environment.  


Working Conditions:  Moderate to heavy physical work at times (lifting up to 50 lbs.).  Napa County facilities  May require shift work (Day and Swing). May require weekend work. Standing for long periods of time (8 hours per day) Must comply with personal protective equipment (PPE) safety requirements (wear ear plugs, safety glasses, and gloves) as required. Exposure to automatic machinery, forklifts and related production environment equipment . Long and irregular hours during peak periods or on various shifts ¿ Extensive walking and lifting of up to 50 pounds
