Heavy Equipment Operator

Adecco is currently Hiring for a Direct Hire Position as an Equipment Operator. Job Summary: Operate a variety of equipment utilized in the construction, maintenance and repair of stream restoration and other large site jobs. 1. Operate heavy equipment of various sizes and weights used in stream restoration or site preparation. 2. Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures. Bring problems to the attention of the Project Manager, Safety Director, or Human Resources Manager as needed. 3. Follow daily procedures and protocols as set forth in equipment training. 4. Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects or needed repairs to supervisor; clean equipment. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics 1. Considerable knowledge of heavy equipment operating principles. Ability to drive and operate the equipment under varying working conditions. 2. Working knowledge of methods, materials, and tools used in stream restoration and site preparation. 3. Working knowledge of hazards and safety precautions common to heavy equipment operations. 4. Ability to perform manual work requiring periods of extensive physical exertion and potential exposure to adverse weather conditions. 5. Ability to work from construction specifications or project plans. 6. Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions. 7. Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency. Physical Work Activities and Exposure Operators must have good eyesight and better than average coordination in order to operate both hand and foot levers simultaneously. They must have good judgment in order to perform complicated tasks and must be able to work closely with other crafts without constant supervision. Skilled operators are constantly alert and observant of their surroundings. 1. Work is regularly performed in outside weather conditions including rain and extreme heat. 2. Exposure to wet and humid condition on a daily basis 3. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50lbs and occasionally lift and /or move up to 100lbs. 4. Frequent sitting, talking and hearing 5. Use of hands to operate tools or controls 6. Reach with hands and arms 7. Walk distances over uneven terrain. Qualifications 1. Five years of experience in operating heavy equipment 2. Sufficient education to make appropriate arithmetic equations and complete written documentation; or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training that provides the desired knowledge, skills and characteristics. ***This position will require out of state Travel*** $16.00 $ 20.00
