Adecco is assisting a local client in their need to hire an HR Generalist for their midtown NYC location. Our client is a very well-known PR firm and this position is a consulting assignment for about six months but could also have the potential to turn into a permanent position for the right candidate. Our client is looking for a VP level candidate from a similar industry who is a true HR Generalist with experience in employee relations, strategy, exposure to recruiting, employee engagement, organizational development and experience working with Senior Executive level management.

The human resource generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR management in supporting designated geographic regions. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment.

Essential Functions
• Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing.
• Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, students and temporary employees; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career-pathing program; and writes and places advertisements.
• Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
• Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
• Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
Preferred Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field.
• SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credential.
• Eight to 10 years of human resource experience.
