Benefits Processor HRIS/SAP
W2 Contract 3-4+ months
$18.00 per hour

Process employee benefit enrollments in SAP HRIS System in accordance with company benefit rules. Respond to employee coverage questions, log all department payables and transactional items


Process benefit enrollments in HRIS system
Perform various union and non-union benefits functions such as weekly payroll updates, benefits enrollments, terminations and changes
Day-to-day issue research, follow-up and resolution related to new hires, annual open enrollment processes and any corresponding employee issues – such as issuing of medical cards, coverage with vendor, claims needing to be reprocessed
Work closely with HR, Payroll, HRIS and IT to research and resolve issues with benefit vendors and various locations
Utilize reporting tools to create a variety of ad-hoc and census reports, benefit reports, payroll reports and spreadsheets concerning enrollments, demographic data, payroll deductions and accruals in the General Ledger
Process payments to SWS benefit vendors, as well as documenting any non-union benefit payment processes
Ensure all payments made are reconciled to the General Ledger and pending adjustments are cleared by the next reporting period
Communicate any reconciling differences to the Accounting Department, Union or Benefit Provider
Perform other duties as assigned and contribute to the success of the department and function

Preferred Qualifications:

2 - 4 years of Accounting or HR Analytics experience
2-4 years of experience in benefits/HRIS – Workday experience preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field of study preferred
Experience administering employee benefit plans and ability to handle and resolve basic benefits issues
Reconciliation experience of Benefit provider invoices preferred
Knowledge of HRIS systems, i.e. Oracle, Peoplesoft, Ultipro or ADP. SAP preferred
Understanding of HR and employee benefit-related laws/regulations including COBRA, FMLA, ERISA and Health Care Reform
Knowledge of finance and accounting practices, financial analysis and reporting; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations
Knowledge of Benefits Administration, particularly with unions and billing processes
Must have working knowledge in Excel using vlook-ups and pivot tables
Highly organized, self-starter, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task
Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Ability to be both an effective team member and self-starter
Working knowledge of MS Office including intermediate Excel expertise required
Effective interpersonal skills to build strong customer relationships and interact professionally with all levels in the organization (peers, work groups, customers, and supervisors)
Ability to process information with high levels of accuracy
Strong interest in producing high quality work with focus on continuous improvement and best practice
Ability to ensure proper protection of organization's confidential information
