Adecco Direct Placement is currently recruiting qualified candidates for a Direct Hire HSE Specialist Job in Odessa, TX for our client, a leading supplier of product optimization solutions in the oil and gas industry. The HSE Specialist implements the organizations safety program to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment. Our client seeks a candidate with a four-year college or university degree in Risk Management, Engineering, Health Sciences, or a related field and 3-5 years of field experience or a candidate with an AA Degree in a relevant field with 5-7 years of field experience.

Responsibilities for the HSE Specialist Job in Odessa, TX include:

Coordinates all environmental, health and safety activities that are required by OSHA, EPA, DOT and state regulations; compiles and submits accident reports required by regulatory agencies; reports improvement opportunities to facility managers.
Coordinates programs to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, illnesses, deaths and regulatory risk.
Assists with the development and provides environmental, health and safety training as required by company policy and regulators.
Participates and/or leads the investigation of accidents and injuries, and cooperates in the preparation of material and evidence for use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations; prepares studies and analyses of industrial accident causes and hazards to health for use by company personnel and outside agencies.
Inspects organization facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, recommends corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
Assist in administering the workers' compensation program, including working with the insurance carrier to reduce employee lost time.
Assists in administering the company’s workplace drug and alcohol program.
Represents the organization in community or industry safety groups and programs.
Provides data for monthly HSE metrics; maintains safety files and records; evaluates key performance indicators to drive functional and business performance improvements related to human resource investments.


Four-year college or university degree in Risk Management, Engineering, Health Sciences, or related field and 3-5 years of field experience; OR
AA Degree in relevant field with 5-7 years of field experience; OR
10-years of field safety related experience with OHST certification.
Experience in the oil & gas industry.
