Are you passionate about helping others? My client is a family owned organization with a newly added position and they are looking for a college grad with 2 to 5-year experience in HR and or a degree that relates. Having a great personality is more important than having each desired skill. This position will be

40% Recruiting – mostly warehouse and driver jobs
30-40% - HR Admin – benefits, not payroll, but tracking down hours from supervisors as necessary
20-30% - Employee Relations/Training/Performance Mgt (this last area would grow with time with experience)

This position will require someone with great people and communication skills, and the maturity to deal with all levels of employees. This position will report to the Vice President of Human Resources located at their Portland, OR branch, but dotted line to their Division President in WA (who is awesome). This is a great opportunity for the right person to learn and grow quickly. Also, this position will need someone who is tech and social media savvy. My client is currently implementing a new payroll and HRIS system that will be much less paper dependent and having someone who is savvy in these two areas will be a major plus!

Position Summary

Facilitate recruiting and retaining a high-quality team of employees
Provide feedback and guidance on hiring and employee relations
Partner with and support leaders and employees achieve business goals
Build relationships based on trust and credibility
Perform a wide variety of HR related work at a level which promotes a positive image of the Company within the organization and the community


Required/Highly Desired Skills
Bachelor’s Degree and 1-year related work experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. SHRM and/or HRCI certifications a plus!

Experience influencing and supporting change in fast paced, dynamic environments
Ability to produce high quality work, be flexible, and anticipate business requirements
Record of leadership and pursuing ownership and accountability for projects
Ability and desire to work as part of a collaborative team
Demonstrated ability to integrate policies, common sense, judgment and business needs
A great sense of humor and the ability to view challenges as opportunities, not crises
Verbal and written fluency in both English and Spanish a plus
