POSITION: Human Resources Assistant I

LOCATION: Vicksburg, MS

PAY: $19.25 /hr

DURATION: 8 months

HOURS: First Shift



The HR Administrative Clerk position will provide HR supportive functions to HR Department supporting the plant population. The individual in this role will be assigned responsibility for HR staffing and clerical duties, training program administration, HR customer service support, HR administrative data base entry and management, administrative record management, minor employee relations, and other HR supportive initiatives. The Administrative Clerk will report to the HR Manager.



  • Administrate the local sites training program, training records and matrix management.
  • Administrate and maintain employee attendance and absenteeism program.
  • Provide effective HR customer service and employee relations support.
  • Maintain accurate and organized administrative record management functions
  • Help support data integrity in HR systems with timely and accurate entry and gather data through HR technology systems.
  • Conduct new hire orientation, onboarding functions and HR training of employees as assigned.
  • Support minor employee relations matters as needed
  • Provide other HR supportive initiatives as needed and necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly HR department working and storage area in accordance with 5S program
  • Observe all Life Safety Rules and safety rules and regulations at all times
  • Ability to effectively work and positively contribute to the team and Culture
  • Perform additional related duties as required.
  • Perform outreach to community sources as needed.



  • Possess sound administrative skill, organizational prowess and keen attention to detail,
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills dealing with HR customer support
  • Positive attitude toward change
  • Data Driven Management Aptitude
  • Results driven and project management skills that ensure goals are met on time.
  • Willingness to cross-train and perform other duties as may be assigned by the Human Resource Manager and be open to new challenges and positions as required


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a HR Generalist in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in Oracle-based HR management systems
  • Certification in Microsoft Office
  • Experience working in a union environment
  • Bachelor’s degree Human Resources


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree
  • Two years of HR experience.


Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or business.
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential.
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems.
